As a strongly funded start-up, we’re experiencing significant growth in our Professional Services Organization. The role is responsible for network installation, configuration and turn up of Vblock network services into the customer environments. The person in this role provides planning, leadership, direction, and advanced technical expertise regarding Confidential products, services, technology and best practices. This is a customer facing role and requires excellent communication and customer relationship management skills.
Provide remote andon-site support for deployment and implementation of Confidential Products and Services
Build detailed architectural, operational, and other procedural documentation for the deployment and implementation of Confidential Products and Services
Provide consultative, proactive and/or reactive support to Confidential customers
Provide network planning, design, analysis, integration, operation and optimization services for the Confidential Vblock platform
Provide customers with knowledge transfer of Vblock network and operation
Help lead the network planning, design and knowledge share within Confidential teams as well as customer teams
Leverage existing best practices for documenting the key aspects of the network design plan and implement network layers.
Ensure best practices are followed and integrate Confidential solutions with customer requirements
Provide input to and create key project documentation deliverables based on standard practices including high and low level network and service design diagrams, and test documentation
2+ years of experience as a Cisco Network Engineer, specifically network design, implementation and upgrade within Enterprise class data center environments.
Strong interpersonal and communication as well as collaboration skills
Internetworking troubleshooting and support in a large-scale network environment
Experience designing and building large scale enterprise network architectures
Knowledge in all Cisco switching products, as well as Cisco UCS and Nexus 1000v.
Strong knowledge in all other areas of: Data Center Networking Design & planning, Layer2 network design and architecture including expertise with switching and/or routing platforms from Cisco,SAN switching
Ability to travel domestically 70%+ of the time
Hands on experience with EMC Storage and/or VMware Virtualization products a plus
Experience in Advanced Services and network and service management tools from Cisco and EMC
An understanding of the Project Management process and ability work as a collaborative member of a team
Understanding of ITIL foundations
Typically requires BS, CS, or University degree equivalent and 10+ years relevant experience in network engineering or telecommunications support environment. Advanced degree strongly preferred such as CCIE, CCNA, EMCIE, EMCTA, VCP, etc. are given a p
