Senior Windows Administrator

  • Significant accomplishments while working at Credit Acceptance:
  • I also design and administrate the VMWARE infrastructure which is currently running on the CISCO UCS hardware. I also designed the Exchange 2013 cluster enviroment for the company and worked with the team installing and migrating from Exchange 2007 to 2013.
  • My primary responsibilities in this position was the development and administration of the VMware and Citrix environment. When I first started I had to implement a new Citrix Xenapp 5 environment. It consists of 30 Citrix servers running on 3 4 VMware hosts. This lead to the company utilizing Citrix for more applications and for each user. I then migrated the Citrix environment into a more dynamic environment Xendesktop 5.5. I migrated all of the Xenapp clients to a new Xendesktop environment. This environment I engineered the environment using Xendesktop 5.5 migrated to 5.6 using machine creation serveries. This has stabilized the environment even more which has caused a better uptime and many less tickets. I have implemented a netscaler and other citrix related technologies.
  • Improved efficiency in the Citrix environment by assessing the current environment and recommending solution that would put the company into a dynamic situation to leverage future technology.
  • Successfully streamed 80 of the applications that the Citrix environment presented.
  • Resolved multiple issues with the new environment by working with the end users directly.
  • Improved the VMWARE environment and recommended solutions to make it more stable.
  • Design and Implement the Cisco UCS environment for VMWARE.
  • Consolidated 25 large physical Citrix servers into 30 virtual servers that ran on 3 UCS Blades.
  • Due to the increased amount of virtual servers it has allowed us to remove a server if it was having any issues with little effect on the environment.
  • I implemented a VMWARE and Windows script that would implement a server for our busy season within 20 minutes so we could easily grow for demand of the system. It would also switch off unused servers as the load decreased to the point of shutting down over night.
