  • Responsible for the build and management of all HP-UX and RHEL Linux systems. This includes Superdome servers, Integrity rx-Series servers and Confidential BL-Series Blade systems (460/860/870/890 ) as well as ProLiant servers for our RHEL environment. UNIX Systems Architect, Senior Systems Administrator and Storage Engineer

  • I was the lead Systems Administrator and Storage Engineer for the GE Aviation UK SAP Jet Engine Service Work Order Management System. This was an SAP application that resided on an Confidential Serviceguard Cluster. This was a mission-critical application responsible for the management of jet engine servicing for all GE customers within the UK and Europe. This also included the servicing of all NATO military aircraft. This is a system that is responsible for bringing in over $1.5 billion of revenue per year for GE Aviation.
  • Designed an automated EMC BCV backup that allows data to be archived onto tape from another host without having to impact production and the performance of the systems.
  • I also designed an automated Ignite-UX recovery environment that will allow for servers to be reinstalled in hours rather than having to restore them manually.
  • Personally migrated 2TB of production data from an old EMC Symmetrix to a new VMAX all while the systems were active in production. No down time was incurred during this migration.
  • Primary systems administrator for PeopleSoft Serviceguard clusters for the GE Interpark Group in Chicago. This engagement involved the relocation of their entire environment from the GE/GIS datacenters in Connecticut into a new data center located in Chicago.
  • Responsible for the management and operation of all OpenView monitoring systems. I also was responsible for the migration of the storage for these systems to a new EMC VMAX enclosure from an older Symmetrix environment.
  • Designed and built a 3-Terabyte HP-UX Serviceguard cluster for GE Advanced Materials (now part SABIC industries of Saudi Arabia) to be used for an SAP product ordering and manufacturing control system.
  • Responsible for the configuration and maintenance of NBC Universal PeopleSoft Production and Development clusters.

UNIX Systems Architect/Engineer

  • Developed an Ignite-UX solution to facilitate the creation of centralized network recovery images. This was a very high-profile project since a third of the systems were located in data centers outside the US that did not have dedicated onsite support.

Applications utilized on these systems were used for domestic and long distance phone call billing.
