  • Network Eng. responsible for providing L-2 and L-3 Network Support by identifying and resolving network related issues in a timely manner in accordance with the Service Level Agreement ( 8-10 tickets completed daily ).   • Designated Lead / Team member, responsible for the installation and maintenance of the JSC Campus voice & data network. Strong background in Cisco Router and Cisco Switch configuration, 2600, 2800, 2948, 3560, 4500, 6500 series, ISO upgrades, and installation, to include, Aruba WAP’s, WAN CSU's and DSU's, and interfacing with outside venders. Thorough knowledge in all Ethernet concepts, and the Cisco 7 Layer OSI Model. Familiar with EIGRP, HSRP, OSPF, TCP/IP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, VTP, and Spanning Tree. Currently supporting a campus environment of about 80 buildings, and over 300 wiring closets, all interconnected via single mode fiber. Daily activity includes monitoring a Remedy Queue which generates daily work orders (MAC), and troubleshooting a variety of network related issues. Connecting and deleting network devices from the JSC network, to include VOIP telephone sets.
  • Extensive background installing, terminating, and testing Cat-5E and Cat-6 cabling. Other duties are to work on non-standard work orders generated by a design engineering group. These work orders consist of installing any non-standard connection from point A to point B almost always using fiber to fiber, or fiber to copper media converters, to include (LRE) Long Reach Ethernet.
  • Maintaining inventory levels, interfacing with management, SR processing, and Design Engineering groups. Responsible for all buried OSP cables at the JSC facility, both copper, and fiber. This entails locating any and all underground cables, marking the locations with designated flags or paint before construction crews begin maintenance activities.Strong Telephony background to include Key and PBX experience. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, Fluke Network One-Touch Ethernet Analyzer, Fluke Networks Omni-Scanner, Fluke 1800 series Cat-6 tester, Firebird 6000 Bert Tester.
