Network Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Implementation of several key projects & complex projects. Preparing High Level Design (HLD), Low Level Design (LLD).
- Involved in redesign of Network due to EOL devices include responsibilities to redesign Network for a new connectivity on various sites LAN & WAN and configuring those including creating Visio diagrams.
- Replaced core 6500 switches with Nexus 7K with no single point for failure at 2 Data centers.
- To increase port density associates several Nexus 2K FEX’es for 1G access layer connectivity.
- Was assigned 11 domestic Alabama Clinics, responsibilities were to identify right hardware and configuring them as per standard of infrastructure.
- Worked with service provider for Circuit installation with AT&T and Sprint for Ethernet hand off circuits.
- Technology used during this transition is, BGP, OSPF, Eigrp and with various design best practices as sites are all redundant connected by internet and MPLS circuit of AT&T, SPRINT and Public Internet. Also, used DMVPN to encrypt the traffic based on available bandwidth and circuit type for encrypted redundant connectivity over the internet.
- Hardware used during this transition so far was ASR’s, XR's and 7K, 5K 6800 and 4500X switches. Riverbeds (steel head) are used for load balancing at various sites.
- Developed / fixed route redistribution mechanism between BGP and OSPF for large scale international networks.
- Monitored and troubleshoot EIGRP, MPLS, multi area OSPF and OSPF scale issues.
- Migrated from DMVPN Phase 2 to Phase 3, since Phase 2 is not an optimal solution.
- Ensuring successful implementation utilizing quality methodologies (ITIL)
- Implementing Internet and Branch Office Connectivity, Load Balancing, High Availability and Fault Tolerance for critical business entities. Validating peer reviews to outline client’s requirement and fulfillments.
