Senior Technical Consultant:

• Supporting one the largest Southern California water districts, a 20+ year client of the RUBS II Progress
• based water utility Customer Service system we co-developed. This past Winter I implemented extensive reusable code changes to simplify ongoing enhancements. In 2009 I completed implementation of the new California concept: of “Water Budget-based tier billing” algorithm, designed to fairly promote “water conservation” in the Southern California drought without “water rationing”. Implementation of this complex algorithm required interfacing with daily weather reporting service to download and embedded micro-climate info into our database. In 2007 District thought it needed to replace our system after 15 years with an Oracle-based system, but midway through conversion realized they already had a better, cheaper, faster solution. I provided data conversion services from our system to the client’s selected Oracle system, with emphasis on data cleansing.

I developed custom modifications to Mfg/Pro’s Picklist: a complete redesign of the picking process and algorithms, developed a Picklist to PDF format to replace standard QAD, and bar-coded Picking Labels to match Picklist. To develop the bar-code labels I devised a XML data exchange from QAD to a common label printing sub-system we created to cover several plant labeling applications.
