Responsibilities:
- Member of the TxDOT Architecture Review Board (ARB) and the Architecture Advisory Board (AAB). Advise TxDOT on best practice, review projects to ensure it is a benefit to TXDOT, and present enterprise solutions that will benefit TxDOT.
- Architected and Deployed the new SCCM environment. Serve as the technical team lead, this was a three phased project. Phase one stand up the new development environment, design the test network, boundaries, and test VMs. Phase two build new production environment, deploy to subsection of systems testing configurations and software deployments. Phase three state wide deployment.
- Architected and Deployed the new SCOM environment. Serve as the technical team lead, this was a temporary deployment of SCOM, TxDOT had no enterprise monitoring in place and asked to stand SCOM up to help stop the P failures that were taking place. SCOM is still up and being used, but soon to be replaced.
- Wrote the SOW and design the state wide VDI for TxDOT, training rooms, shared PCs and data intensive applications state wide. This solution is a Citrix multi zoned environment.
- Zenoss was chosen as the TxDOT enterprise solution. Wrote the SOW, designed, and oversaw the deployment of Zenoss as the enterprise solutions.
- Wrote the SOW, designed, and oversaw the completion of the new printing solution that replaced the Novell iPrint. The new solution is a simple Active Directory published self-service web site users can map printers to their PCs they may use based on Windows print servers.
- Wrote the SOW, designed, and oversaw the completion of the Novell file storage migration to CTERA storage devices. The new solution is a faster less costly Windows based solution.
- TxDOT’s current Polycom Video Teleconferencing system (VTC) was at end-of-life and was no longer covered under a support agreement. In addition, the existing technology was antiquated and did not provide TxDOT with latest improvements in video technology. In order to rollout a new solution with minimal service disruption and to ensure all user requirements are captured and satisfied, a phased approach was recommended.

Phase one stand up the new virtual environment, design networking, VLAN, Firewall configurations. Phase two build new VMs to deploy for large application migrations to be upgraded to. - Designed and implemental the new corporate AD. LPS bought two other companies that needed to be migrated into the LPS domain. This was a two phased project. Phase one migrated the smaller of the two AD domains, with users to New Jersey, New York, and California. Phase two was the migration of the larger of the new companies, with locations in North Carolina, New York, and Texas.
- Developed and deployed the patch management environment, WSUS. Determined the best patch cycle, first patching and testing the development systems. Then deploying patches to a test group. Only after a GO - NO GO would the rest of the company be patched.
- Architected and Deployed the dev environment. LPS did not have a DEV environment for testing in, reclaimed a few older servers and storage system (CX4-120). This gave the infrastructure and development teams a place to design and test systems.
- Architected and Deployed the vSphere 5.5 environment. LPS had a vSphere 5.0 environment that was not built to best practice as the technician left the company before finishing it. The resulting environment is strong and stable.
- Architected and Deployed VMware’s Horizon View 6.0. The results, support had systems to use from remote locations, training was able to train users and clients on systems they would be using, developers had different systems for testing and developing new products.
