Responsibilities:

  • Ability to learn new technology as required, working both independently and or as a team member.

  • Experience broadcast standards, content creation, television and video production.
  • Experience in running cabling, cable terminations, equipment installation, upgrades, troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • i ngest A/V footage into storage in order to edited using Avid production technology before being introduced to the public.
  • Interrupt blueprints, schematics, system diagrams.
  • Introducing new technologies incorporating into the current environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Desktop / Laptop / Servers running windows NT/2000/XP.
  • Knowledge of audio video and networking cabling such as (CAT 5e, CAT 6, DVI, Fiber, HDMI, VGA).
  • Maintain a current understanding of the latest engineering procedures and operations.
  • Operate Panasonic High Definition P2 cameras for live breaking news and taped events.
  • Package, ship and receive field equipment in need of repairs, servicing and upgrades.
  • Partner with other engineers, reporters and field technician on current and future projects.
  • Partner with other technical groups deploying, upgrading, and supporting applications, workstations and associated LAN equipment such as routers and switches.
  • Provide a strong analytical, oral and written communication
  • Provide technical support to field reporters, shooters and wave truck operator via teleconference or onsite assistance
  • Responsible for first level support of Local Area Network support (LAN), as well as interfacing with Application Development and Wide Area Network groups.

  • Conduct consultative checks for pre-installation of auditoriums, classrooms and MPR’s requiring rebuilds or upgrades.
  • Configure university AV / VTC systems for reliability and quality performance.
  • Coordinate large scale projects involving construction, design and installation.
  • Create and update university announcements, information, and online tutorial.
  • Develop and implement operating policies and procedures.
  • Effectively communicate with individuals on all levels including non-technical and technical users.
  • Integrate multimedia technology in every classroom, conference room, meeting room and clinic.
  • Interact with several service departments working together to support the broad spectrum of university activities and events.
  • Maintain an accurate record of departmental budget, office operations, project billing, reports and timesheets.
  • Manage AV / VC media services for the universities (Administrators, Deans, Faculty, Staff and Students).
  • Manage a team of seven internal staff supporting media services malfunctioning equipment repairs, replacement and setups.
  • Manage projects throughout the university ranging from construction, conference room design, deployment and upgrades.
  • Monitor access to secure areas storing AV / IT / VTC inventory.
  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, testing, troubleshooting and upgrades of all multimedia equipment.
  • Preform video editing, recording, source routing and video distribution.
  • Prepare various equipment upgrades to be installed and interface with them to the universities network.
  • Provide integrated information and multimedia technology solutions to classroom, computer labs, and office spaces.
  • Provide technical training to non-technical staff and high profile clients via lectures, presentations and symposiums.
  • Recommend alternative technical solutions and replacement equipment.
  • Respond to and provide information regarding facilities services, equipment, policies and procedures.
