PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Confidential

Integration Analyst / Developer

Responsibilities:

  • Developed HL7 interfaces using Orion’s Rhapsody Integration Engine including the use of Symphonia. Used Rhapsody at multiple clients including the CDC, and multiple Healthcare providers. Projects included developing HL7, XML and proprietary formats interfaces for multiple systems, involving migration for other engines as well as fresh development.
  • Work with Multiple clients integrating with Epic Bridges. Monitoring and working error queues, modification of interfaced messages when needed to resolve errors and analysis and documentation of events and fields as it relates to downstream systems. The use of standard Epic tool kits to document testing progress
  • Boston Workstation, application animation toolset, created multiple scripts, used to enhance speed and accuracy of manual tasks. Used to both create reports from applications and to use reports as input to applications, where a facility for loading batches of data is not an option. Also, developed means to allow the processing and enhanced parsing of real - time HL7 messages, thereby providing the site with another HL7 destination for data where one didn’t exist before
  • Confidential Engine, migration and installation, partnered with vendor and provided the primary technical expertise, including reverse-engineering specifications for the interfaces being moved and developing the architecture for the new platform based on the Confidential interface engine. Part of this effort involved defining the normalized message format that allowed mapping of data between systems that utilize different data models.
  • Sybase eBiz Impact, provided engine support, including debugging issues, updating translation code, providing solutions for unique site needs. Also, worked on efforts to provide documentation for existing code to facilitate migration from Impact to another engine. Including routing information and specific code used for data transformation and qualification e-Biz Impact - Sybase Integration Engine expert. Proficient in multiple uses of tools to solve virtually any integration problem (FTP, SMTP, M LLP, X12 …)
  • Wrote Sybase e-Biz Impact AIM code to support HL7 with all options configurable has become the standard AIM for multiple locations - and for other consulting firms.
  • Work with multiple messages and protocols including FTP, SQL, XML, HTTP, HL7, ASTM, XSLT, and X12
  • Performed analysis and implemented multiple interfaces with the Sybase e-Biz Impact Toolset using HL7 versions 2.1 - 2.4 and other formats (some proprietary). These interfaces ran on differing platforms using multiple communication protocols. (MQ, TCP, LU6)
  • Extensive work with MQSI (WebSphere) - IBM’s interface engine. Trained on the use of MQSI and the use of API calls to construct custom C code. Constructed multiple custom nodes to facilitate customer’s needs including an adaptor to allow HL7/TCP to MQSeries communication as well as nodes to support direct DB2 access, XML file loading, and Environmental information.
  • HIPAA - created templates of different X12 message formats for use with the e-Biz Impact engine including 270, 271, 276, 277 & 837 as well as code to support X12 specific communication protocol. Also, Translated X12 to XML
  • Architected a custom program that converted “green bar” output to an excel workbook including multiple sheets, correct columns and appropriate calculations
  • Directed a project from using animation to one that used a custom HLLAPI DLL developed to more tightly integrate the two products (from separate vendors)
  • Used Boston Software to engineer an application that collecting key data elements to populate a form that could be used to call a web service that verified eligibility
  • Developed and document standard HL7 integration specifications for the Allscripts MyWay physician EMR.
  • Use of XML to facilitate the documentation of HL7 messages and issues identified based on HL7 standards
  • Trained in Sybase Database for both user level functions (SQL) and administration functions (backup/recovery).
  • Security Clearance approved by the CDC to provide Analytic support for the Country’s BioSense project meant as an early indicator of a possible Biological “incident”
  • Performed over thirty e-Biz Impact software installations, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Knowledge of the following languages: C/C++, UNIX Shell, ODL, Visual BASIC, HTML, JavaScript, TCL and others.
  • Expert UNIX knowledge including IBM AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, DEC, & Linux
  • Developed multiple hospital interfaces included those to/from the LastWord Admission system, IDX classic Admission system, Eclipsys HIS, QuadRIS Radiology (Cerner), Tamtron Pathology, GCC Outpatient and WORx Pharmacy, SAIC Master Patient Index, Dolbey Transcription. CBord and Computrition Dietary, Misys (Sunquest) Laboratory, GE PACS, Atlas LabWorks, SMS and many others.
  • Created custom functions in the .NET architecture to parse and created HL7 messages using the normal HL7 notation for location of data (i.e. PV1.3) used to enhance the capabilities of “Boston Workstation” in the creation of HL7 interfaces
