• At Confidential, success at many jobs, languages, mentorships, and disciplines as the company matured and triumphed through many increasingly complex challenges over 29 years with internal secure Confidential multi - host global (galactic-LAN) networks with banking users in most of the countries of the world.
• Starting in 1985, via system and application software positions, successful conversion to ALGOL, DMSII, WFL, COBOL, BLsource, BLdata, ERGO, SDF, and CANDE. Confidential MCP machines supported include B5900, B7900, A3-12, A15- 17, LX400, NX450, and Libra 450 using proprietary in-house UTILSOFT for source control and program support of 40-70 hosts in 5-9 networks.
• Within first 2 years deleted 13K lines and wrote 9K lines of ALGOL and DCALGOL increasing the performance of the network interface OSI level processing by over 1000% to enable a go vs. no-go decision for the whole project. Over 4 more years with hardware and software changes end-to-end performance increased another 700%.
• Mentored 35+ people during career. Participated in 3 “sore thumbs” passes of the 3 million lines of source base for maintenance consistency, security, and performance.
• Lead Performance Tech for 4 trips to Confidential Large Systems Development in Penn. for full network tests of 6-12 new generation hosts and new peripherals before public.
• Tested and specified numerous hardware and software design modifications to vendors for reliability, quality, functionality, and/or performance for the Confidential project, including Confidential, HP, 3 generations of cache disk systems, BLSource, and BLdata.
• Designed new ways of providing real-time, non-impacting, online reliability data similar to debugging information for real-time production problem analysis and corrections.
• Made 6 team moves when needed to mentor and bolster different groups and provide inter- and intra-team communication and cohesion including System support, FIN application s, production support, FIN application testing, system integration, network performance while providing 24/7 on-call system support throughout the employment.
• Starting in 2005 via application and performance testing positions, supported design, modeling, and pre-migration modifications of Confidential DMSII software to ensure success of Confidential migration to HP-unix, using SQL, C++, and Oracle database tuning.
• Outside of work provides enthusiastic support of public school and community theater, small and medium live concerts, and worship sound and lighting improvements.
