During my time as a Sr. Engineer there would be the need to work with the patching of OS/system software that would be identified as vulnerabilities for stability or/and security where either scheduling for update when an identified maintenance window existed or negating a timeframe to apply said effort based on business requirements.
Tracking and verifying activity and reporting status would be expected along with exception also based on business demand/explanation.

I feel myself as a well - rounded infrastructure engineer having been exposed and responsible for coordinating and deploying the pillars that constitute the architecture of distributed infrastructure. Specifically I have worked on server-OS/HW (RHEL and WIN20XX), extensively on storage options, networking(FW/LB) and various middleware components in a significant java deployment with WebLogic as the application server layer along with direct efforts with database.
For 20+ years in which role I also provided Production Support along the way. This included that would have high availability with less than 1-hour recovery, 1-4-hour recovery, 4-10-hour recovery. System availability, performance and utilization would be among key attributes being monitored and tracked. Addressing system alerts indicating some type of condition that could impact the user experience or impact the health and/or integrity of system and/or data could need attention/correction.
Disaster Recovery and Business Resumption requirements gathering, planning and drills also were areas which I participated in all along the way in my various role/responsibility.
