Global Outsourcing Support

Responsibilities:
  • Supported the helpdesk by validating data and loading it into the system. Transitioned the data from CA Unicenter helpdesk to BMC Remedy helpdesk. I used MS Access and Visual Basic programming to create a windows based program that validated new data loads and created a load file. This program was shared with my colleagues on the data team (6 of them) and improved our efficiency and accuracy.
  • Involved in rolling out the new Asset Management System (AMS) created by CSC. There were many issues with the new system. I determined that the data was not loaded into it correctly. I revised our data gathering methods and data validation, which greatly improved the accuracy of the system. For this I was promoted to Technical Staff A and given an 11% raise in pay. I became the data expert for the system.
  • Installed the AMS client side software at client sites. Had to learn about ip addresses and DHCP, and be able to trouble shoot problems when it would not load.
  • Helped run wall to wall inventories of IT assets when a new client was acquired by CSC. Trained people how to gather the data, validated the data gathered and loaded it into the database.
  • Created a software package for validating data at the NSA account. Since I did not have security clearance, had to create the software and train an NSA employee to use it.
  • Wrote PL/SQL script to extract data from the Oracle database used for asset management.
  • Did the coding for an interface between our MSA software Purchase Order system and a PeopleSoft system.
