Confidential, Roseburg, OR
Senior Technical Manager
Responsibilities:
- Confidential was brought in to enhance the functionality of an existing OBIEE system. Confidential brought in additional Essbase cubes into OBIEE physical layer by importing Essbase cubes. Then quickly converted measure dimensions to flat measures as by default measures are imported as measure hierarchies.
- The cube contains a single measure column that represents all the measures. After the conversion, all measures were being displayed as individual columns. Dragged and renamed the objects into the BMM layer and then created a presentation layer so that the users can build BI Analysis.
- In additional to that, Confidential also made some changes to the configuration files so that more rows can be exported to excel rather than the default of 2500 rows as provided by Oracle. Confidential also created users in the weblogic console as per the customer’s requirements.
- The trick here was that Confidential had to create a role similar to the BI consumer role but with additional policies applied. Thus the new role was created and the users were assigned to them. One other issue that the customer was facing was that they were building reports and saving them under their personal folder.
- Instead of sharing the reports or saving them under the shared folder, the customer was coping and pasting the reports under the shared folder. Thus the other users were unable to view the reports generated by other users as the copy paste functionality retains the same security properties as in the personal folders.
- This issue was quickly resolved after Confidential instructed the users to save the report in the shared folders and not use copy paste functionality.
Confidential, Arlington, VA
Senior Technical Manager
Responsibilities:
- Confidential is one of the very few customers which went live with OBIEE 11g and EBS on the same day. Confidential was sent by FCS to quickly work with the EBS team to build custom reports using BI Publisher and BI Analysis.
- Confidential lead a team of 3 resources and got it delivered on time. Confidential implemented the OBIEE security model using OID with scaled out option on a high availability environment. He was also very instrumental in training on how to build webservices, scorecards, create action items so that the in-house team can build them in the future.
- This implementation on Financial modules helped the company analyze the spending behavior. The solution was developed so that Confidential can analyze the amount of money spent on each supplier. The top 10 costlier suppliers came into the picture and thus enabling Confidential to further fine tune their spending patterns.
- Supplier and Cost analysis was very effective for Confidential and lead to a huge reduction in their cost. AP and AR for financial analytics are Oracle’s out of the box product. But building a solution that really solves the company’s need is more effective by analyzing a given Companies current situation.
