Supply Planning involves planning the supply chain in order to meet the future demand in best possible manner.
It’s a forward looking process that tries to meet supply with demand by comprising the list of Items to be shipped by a Supplier to a specific location and the quantities that need to be shipped on what dates. The Confidential functionality provides the ability for a suppliers and contract manufacturers to review the supply forecasts and to provide commits or suggest changes to the forecast values.
This also provides the ability to view the previously submitted data using which suppliers and contract manufacturers can arrive at better estimates for current forecasts. This functionality also provides details of the forecasts that are pending commitments from supplier and the ones that have been under or over committed so that a corrective action can be taken.
