• Brian participated in a migration of Oracle databases 10g on Windows platform to 11.2.0.4 on Exadata using diverse options: Transportable tablespaces, RMAN, physical and snapshot standbys, Goldengate and Oracle Advanced Replication. He analyzed, reviewed and created mapping to convert the Oracle Advanced Replication into Goldengate replication for databases of various sizes from nearly 1TB to about 120TB. He performed a several technologies to analyze databases and support the team using in house SQL and PLSQL scripts and EM12c tools such as AWR reports and SQL Performance Analyzer, to diagnose performance issues and provided recommendations. Brian documented several papers focusing on either step by step implementations or known issues and fixes when making software configuration changes. He also installed and configured EM 13c (13.1 and 13.2) which included the EM Plugin deployment and client agents on both Linux and Windows based platforms.
• Brian installed and configured Golden Gate Monitor Server including JAgent to monitor more than 250 databases across the globe.
• Brian installed a v ariety of Databases on RAC and single instances running on legacy storage or Exadata Machine. He also installed and configured the Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control. He managed backups and recovery of these instances using RMAN and Data pump utilities. He configured the production DR environment using Oracle Data Guard. He imported data from different sources using Data pump import and SQLLDR. In addition to the daily maintenances, he applied quarterly patches and other patches as required. • Migrated and synchronized a number of databases from big endian (Solaris SPARC 64 - bit) on Oracle SuperCluster to little endian (Linux 64-bit) platforms using Oracle Goldengate, RMAN and Transportable tablespace technologies. Migrated Microsoft SQL Server 2008 databases - Windows- to Oracle RAC (11.2.0.4) databases running on Linux platform using SQL Developer
• As an infrastructure lead, Brian designed a master architecture of a crime investigation data warehouse for the Police Department with databases running on Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) servers. Installed, configured and deployed the ODA servers which included metal restore of the OS image. Migrated single database instances from IBM AIX platform to a two RAC nodes with caged instances technology. Utilized the data pump utilities for migration. Installed, upgraded and configured Oracle Application Express (APEX) on ODA servers. Installed and configured the Cloud Control 12c on standalone box and configured agents to manage RAC databases on ODA and single instances. Configured a Data Guard physical standby database using RMAN active database duplication for a DR site of the primary database on ODA. Supported the installation and configuration of ODI and OBIEE applications.
