Role
Implementation of HADR and SA MP
Project Summary: The project involved installation and configuration of HADR and SAMP
for SAP PI landscape. This included moving the primary PPI database to another DB server located in a DR facility and creating the standby database on another DB server. As pre-work DB2 UDB software was installed to build the \'would be-primary\' PPI database in the DR facility. Deere Parts and Enterprise Warranty applications have low Recovery Time Objective OF 3 days and they use SAP PI. So HADR and SA MP with ACR were implemented to leverage two locations for recoverability.
Roles and Responsibility:
- Pre-work - build PI database on the new LPAR and do other DBA steps
- Pre-work - co-ordination with Basis team for basis pre-work steps
- Additionally as part of this project HACMP was re-configured for PI
- Co-ordination with basis and AIX team for the infrastructure changes
- Implement HADR and SA MP on the primary and standby database servers
- Perform post HADR work
- Note : There have been some issues (split brain) with SA MP and we are
in the process of uninstalling SA MP from the HADR systems
