ABAP Develope

Confidential

Responsibilities:

  • Developed and supported custom SAP applications in ABAP using procedural and object-oriented coding
  • Participated in a project to replace old transportation system (TM3) with one provided by Odyssey. This allowed Confidential to utilize standard SAP transportation functionality that was not available before upgrading to ECC6. Part of project required me to develop a 'pseudo' TM3 system to allow custom programs used by the Confidential logistics team to continue to function as though TM3 was still being used. This required development of table update programs to gather shipment and delivery data from standard SAP tables and IDocs received from and sent to Odyssey and provide the compiled data to the logistics team's custom programs.
  • Developed custom program to realize a German legal requirement that is not provided by the standard bonus process in SAP. Standard SAP provides the functionality to post automatic bonus accruals based on sales, but does not provide a tool to repost accruals to liabilities. Developed a process to reverse bonus agreement accruals and repost as realized liabilities if the first scale of the underlying agreement has been reached.
  • Completed functional and technical development of programs to handle freight accruals and payments in conjunction with CTL (external, third-party company that handles payment of freight bills). This required partner configuration for CTL and development of programs needed to handle incoming and outgoing IDocs and their mapping to EDI 858 Shipment Information and 810 Invoice messages.
  • Investigated CPU usage statistics for individual and technical users and worked with Basis team to reduce overall SAP CPU usages by 25% through a combination of writing more efficient programming in custom developments and educating users on how to use custom programs and standard SAP transactions more efficiently
  • Developed series of programs for group inventory calculation process. This process allowed all companies within Confidential to track inventories obtained from group and non-group sources so that inter-company profits and losses can be calculated. Served as functional and technical designer of the process. Process allows tracking of inventory to a second level of production, so that group percentages of raw materials are maintained as they are consumed in the production of finished and semi-finished goods.
  • Expertise in SAP Workflow, EDI, cash flow enhancement and lockbox processes
