MES Consultant PMX with SAP

  • Developed an electronic batch record continuous-weighing solution, built upon Rockwell Automation's PMX EBR module Python .
  • Designed and documented deployment processes for installing PMX product at manufacturing sites. Developed lifecycle documents, including Installation Qualifications, Work Instructions, and other Reference materials for installing and configuring the EBR, SCADA, Paletti, Gateway and Reporting modules of the MES system on site servers. In addition, developed the architecture for and worked with six manufacturing sites on implementing these solutions in a Citrix environment.
  • Architected and built the AMI Automated Module Installer tool now used by all of the company's manufacturing sites to install, upgrade and configure MES software. This software transformed the manual process, that required days and over a hundred pages of handwritten documentation per installation into an automated one able to be accomplished in hours and with very little paperwork Delphi .
  • Developed software that automatically manages and recycles multiple electronic batch record processes and directs client connections to the appropriate ports. This software, called MISER Multiple Instance Service Rotator was developed to address a bug in the PMX software which the vendor could not fix, and which had been halting production on a daily basis for a number of months. Since MISER was installed, the failure has not occurred Delphi, CMD scripts .
  • Built an automated query and view replication tool DQRE for use with SAP xMII that allowed complex reports and database views, once qualified, to be automatically promoted from one xMII environment to another, preventing errors and eliminating the very time-consuming reverification.

Founder, CEO, CTO

  • Designed and developed mMES mobile MES , phases I and II, for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, to provide line operators the ability to use wireless, bar code-capable devices to help manage and track production assets throughout various stages of the Electronic Batch Record Automation process. The system consists of several capabilities that, found together, are quite unique on such hand held systems: all of the mobile devices are browser-based, zero footprint machines, thus eliminating the ongoing maintenance and configuration traditionally required of such systems. In addition, mMES is capable of interfacing with OPC servers in real-time for tighter integration with Propack's PMX. It can feed update transactions directly to the PMX gateway for reporting asset transitions as they happen and directly accesses the current status information stored in Oracle databases so that key decisions may be made directly on the line using the most up-to-date and reliable factors available ISAPI, Delphi .
  • Designed and built Innovatum's ROBAR application which provides a system of comprehensive management for bar code product labeling in most any context. The system not only controls all of the approval aspects of the artwork management, but also maintains and automatically merges validated, item and batch-specific variable information into pre-qualified label templates so as to minimize redundancy, template maintenance, and labeling errors. The system also provides for completely automated, hands off label generation, application, and scan verification, all triggered from SCADA equipment governed by product movement along the line.in the production area C, Delphi .
  • Invented, designed and developed Innovatum's very successful product, DataThread, currently in use by many Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, and Food manufacturers. The system automates the entire process of oversight for cGMP-related database activity, providing out-of-the-box 21 CFR Part 11 compliance for any existing system ERP, LIMS, R D, Distribution, etc. running on the target platform RPG-LE, CL
  • Designed and developed ROPICS Weigh, a fully automated MES for Weigh and Dispense operations, for Bristol-Myers Squibb. ROPICS Weigh eliminates all manual calculations for weigh and charge of ingredients, including variable potency items, compensators, and material additions dependent on intermediate yields. This system was deployed to two of BMS's Oral Solid Dosage manufacturing sites, replacing paper-based work-flow production processes for the worldwide manufacture of all of the company's Coumadin and Sustiva product lines C, Delphi
  • Built a client-server application for CadVantage, Inc. which automates the dispensing of usage-based tokens over the Internet. This system, called Quarterware, is used by software vendors to sell their applications on a pay-as-you-go basis. Automated downloading of tokens across the Internet and detailed usage reports for vendors are included in the system.

Independent Software Design, Development, Integration

  • Designed and developed ROPICS RF Order Picking and Inventory Control System , a hand-held computer network which has online interfaces through radio-frequency communications to BPCS, allowing warehouse operators to perform inventory and order picking functions remotely. All BPCS updates are performed as the work is actually performed on the warehouse floor. October, 1994 June, 1997 C
  • Implemented Distribution module of BPCS at DuPont Merck's worldwide distribution center in Atlanta, GA. Coordinated the installation and cutover of warehouse management, order picking, packing, and shipping functions. Trained users and initiated design modifications to provide support for the early stages of implementation. February, 1994 - October, 1994 Deployment consulting, Training
  • Coordinated performance stress testing phase of BPCS implementation. Developed the work plan and managed the test execution, including logistics of test environment setup and design of the automated test scripts. November, 1993 - January, 1994 QA Partner, Custom Scripting
  • Served as Director of Database Administration for a 5-site corporate-wide implementation of SSA's BPCS. Reverse-engineered entire BPCS database into Bachman Analyst Entity model and facilitated user design reviews. Coordinated all new and modified database development to support Order Entry, Bids and Contracts, Chargeback processing, and Customer Licensing, using AS/SET repository management tools. February, 1993 - October, 1993
