  • SAP AutoSys Consultant responsible for executing a full job scheduling development project life cycle, including job scheduling requirements gathering, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of finance operation SAP job schedules for Symphony conversion project.   • Wachovia/Wells Fargo Corp., DSAC II Project. As a member of the Autosys Engineering team, tasked to convert crons from UNIX system platforms to autosys jils for an internal project. Also, took Windows Tasks from Windows Scheduler systems and converted them.
  • After all crons and Windows Tasks were converted to jils, implemented jils into test. Then, into Production after testing was successful. Also, worked on disaster recovery plans and implemented those.
  • Instructed application teams with no prior knowledge of autosys and how to work with it. Provided the teams with a 2 page document to assist them along with their testing, and even provided on the phone training where needed.
  • Kept Sr. Project Managers constantly abreast of issues with the application teams if applicable.
  • Was in constant contact with application teams during the conversion project. Attended weekly meetings held on the phone to discuss the projects progression.
  • Part of this projects requirement was to do data requirements gathering such as servers, etc, so that another member of the autosys team, split responsibilities with me to install autosys on their Windows servers, while the application teams provided an SA to install Autosys on their UNIX servers.
  • I ordered licenses for all servers, that had autosys installed on them, and another member of the team, installed the licenses.
  • While all conversions were taking place, I kept detailed accounts in a database of all activities of all application that were being converted.

  • Boeing Corp., Financial Services Group, assisted Project Managers with autosys system processes to extrapolate data from the autosys database to determine an end-to-end flow in regards to which autosys jobs are taking the longest to run, and why.
  • Using SQL* Plus and sql scripts to extrapolate data from the autosys database to populate a spreadsheet.

  • Hartford Financial Services, Corp., working with the Group Annuities team on jobs flows, scheduling jobs, advising, consulting, monitoring GA’s Batch Streams. Providing DB Error discovery on the nightly batch cycle and reporting it to the team.
  • Oracle 9i Database. Preparing jobs to be place on ICE/HOLD to OPS Center. SUN Solaris is what is being used at the Hartford.
  • Extrapolating jils from the Autosys database for modifications or creating addition al jil scripts for those needed in the batch schedule which requires changes to be mad and job impact analysis.
  • The other group (IA) doesn’t monitor batch, they primarily use me for answering any autosys technical issues that might arise.

  • Contracted out to Jackson National Life in OKEMOS, MI, an original 4 week project that lasted 9 weeks. At Jackson National Life, restructured and removed outdated JILS that were not presently needed. Modified current job streams in development system to be conforming to standards. Consulting on all facets of job failures, box starting conditions, calendars, autosys alarms, and general autosys day to day situations, etc.
  • Created new JILS and Calendars to automate holiday schedules vs. placing streams on ICE and or HOLD.
  • Made significant recommendations to improve throughput, such as to place Load Balancing and Queuing in play. Also recommended to eliminate job streams not in use anymore. To better utilize machine cycle time.
  • Designed autosys job boxes for command jobs to be placed into. This was successfully implemented. Also going over job flows to make sure system throughput is fine tuned.
  • Made recommendations to re-design the entire job flow for faster throughput, but budget wasn’t there to allow that. Performed impromptu instruction for some of the autosys team that were already in place.

  • Worked for various corporations on short-term contracts performing Autosys Administration. Designed job flows, and created JIL’s and also taught job information language (JIL) to persons that had to learn it for their involvement in it.
  • On one assignment created the step-by-step instruction manual for upgrading Autosys from 3.5 to 4.0. This dealt with remote agents. Was assigned as a consultant to oversee the implementation of Autosys 4.5 and to review the configuration files and to implement the Sybase DB. While the backups were being performed by the system, instructed the CA account representative, and the clients UNIX administrator on tricks and how to get around autosys system failures.
  • Provided verbally the mechanism of the internal throughput and the functionality of the (Event Processor) what was taking place logically to both administrator, and CA representative. Worked as a HelpDesk analyst answering user questions about various computer related problems including e-mail, desktop applications and remote access. This was not at all related to autosys.

  • Worked as the LEAD autosys consultant to IBM for the “AMES” Department Store account and then as an IBM employee on the project implementing autosys for the Ames Department Store Chain. Monitored Autosys jobs and assisted AMES employees with job streams, designing, developing, and implementing them. Modified JIL scripts and handled system operational problems on a 24/7 basis.
  • All autosys change management processes went thru me first so that a job impact analysis could be performed. If job didn’t make logical sense to be placed into the Autosys Database, it didn’t go in. Ensured Autosys jobs ran correctly and resolved any problems 24/7. On call 24/7
  • Both AIX UNIX and Windows NT4.0 were used on this project. Made frequent visits to the IBM Operations Center at Southbury, CT. I performed most of my work at the IBM plant in Southbury, CT., on the NT Global Services Team that I was apart of. Checking for job failures that had taken place over night, and performed an analysis of why a job failed.
  • Recommended implementation of shadow event processing versus the single server mode AMES had been using. The NT Engineers and I were set in place to implement this, but AMES wasn’t. Attended AMES operational daily meetings everyday and answered for the autosys aspect of the meetings, and resolved any issues that arose.

  • Learned the Autosys application, job flow design and development, calendar creation, import and export of the calendars to the database. Learned JIL scripting in my first few months and eventually took the lead position when my manager left the company.
  • Studied system throughput and functionality as it related to job streams and command jobs, file watcher jobs, and box jobs.
  • Learned the autosys_profile, how to develop jil’s and to implement them into the autosys, and all the commands, and what they do, (e.g. sendevent, jil, eventor, autocal, the alamode table (autosys internal time mechanism.)
