• Senior member of team that maintained and enhanced systems used by network applications groups. The batch processes consisted of COBOL programs accessing DB2, Datacom, and VSAM data. These mainframe applications interfaced with various client/server applications using batch COBOL/CICS programs. User interface consisted of COBOL/CICS programs accessing DB2, Datacom, and VSAM data.
• As lead developer, utilized System Development Life Cycle to create the Least Cost Routing System. The system consisted of COBOL/CICS/DB2 programs that processed transactions sent by a Unix-based web application.
• Gathered requirements for unfamiliar business area from users spread all over the United States.
• Created project plan submitted to the company’s Project Management Group and closely monitored by upper management.
• Created design specifications using MS Word for process descriptions and MS Visio for data flow diagrams. Lead team of programmers who developed subsystems from my design specifications, while coding other parts of the system myself. Programming language was COBOL.

• Senior member of team which was tasked with rewriting the Cost of Access Expensing System to accommodate tariff changes made by Federal Communications Commission. It was a batch COBOL/DB2 system using a Visual Basic 6 web application for the user interface.
• Gathered requirements from the business partners.
• Created data model consisting of seven DB2 tables. Utilized MS Visio to diagram the model.
• Generated DB2 DDL modules to create tables.
• Designed system that processed 120 million telephone calls daily. This required very efficient use of disk space and database calls.
