• Pakedge WAP (WK-1, WK-2, WX-1) firmware is based on open source platform openWrt. My job is mainly to manage the oversea team in the European country to understand the requirement from the Product management, assign proper developer to proper task, estimate and finalize the development schedule. I also work closely with the PM about the regulatory issue which is unique to the Access point product. Such as FCC/CE/IC requirement, DFS feature for FCC and CE. • This project's business objective is to integrate voice/fax/speakerphone and email function into one application and the application should support multi-line at the same time. Confidential USA/ Confidential develop a new Quadmodem card which integrated four modems into one modem cards and it only occupy one I/O address and IRQ. Any other application can not support four phone lines’ voice/fax/speaker function at the same time.
• For the Professional version of this application, We also add script language support and Text-to-speech technology. Duties of this application include Telephony function, Fax (class 1 and ECM) protocol, voice playback and recording, Printer driver (used for the Fax), Fax Viewer (T.40 tiff format file viewer), database management (Mailbox, Message box, Log file, Address book) and main control program design.
• This application is bundle with many kind of modem. Each month, this application will sell at least 50,000 license in US. Many of our customers in Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong also use our software. This application support up to four phone line to have different work at the same time and support totally 9999 mailboxes (users).
• We also provide multi-language support of our software. We have Germany, French, Italy and Spanish version of @ Confidential . The totally C and C++ source code is more than 60,000 lines. The page number of the document for this project is more than 200.The totally testing report are more than 100 pages. All this is done within 6 month. This software mainly based on Visual C++ 6.0.
• We also use Windows Confidential to develop the device driver (Printer driver for Fax). We use Data Access Object (DAO) to deal with the database management. For the Text-to-speech technology, we use the Microsoft speech SDK 4.0 to implement it (This SDK also support voice recognition).
• My duties include Telephony function implementation, Fax protocol, voice playback and recording, User Management, Log record and viewer, Text-to-speech implementation, setup program. During the finally three month of the development, I am also in charge of fixing bugs of all the modules except Printer driver module because some programmers left the company. Myself complete all four DLL files. The totally source code are more than 40,000 lines. I also write two documents of the Design Spec and Help file.
