Responsibilities:

  • Engaged in providing support for the Confidential program, primarily in the Private Option (Arkansas Works) program, My primary duties were providing support for the processing of TPL transactions from a third party which included processing enrollment and update as well as Billing and Posting transactions as well as the processing of 834 transactions for enrollment, cancellation/termination and updates for transmission to the various carriers.
  • Processed request for rate changes (Mass Adjustments).
  • During the conversion from MMIS (a legacy based system) to a Interchange (a Unix based system) I provided support in researching and providing information to the data conversion team primarily for TPL. After the conversion, I was assigned to the Managed Care team where my assignments included the addition of TPL information to the 834 transactions.
  • In support of the TPL application, I was required to communicate with third party personnel and members with the state of Arkansas DHS. Duties also included the processing of files received from the vendor in both test and production and the submission of the results to the DHS personnel. When errors were found in the testing process, representative of the third party vendor were notified.
  • Additionally, was engaged in supporting the enrollment process for any issues such as web portal errors and rejections. Worked on ad-hoc research on items requested by management individuals.
  • Worked on the creation of a standardized layout for the 834 transactions for the standardization of translation to the X12 format. Also created a process to send update 834 transactions to the carriers, something that had previously not existed. This provided carriers with more timely information.
  • Was part of the Production Support on a rotational basis. The duties included the monitoring of daily and weekly production cycles and research and correct any issues that occurred during the processing.
