Responsibilities:

• As an e-Commerce integrations developer, I utilized the Open Source Enterprise Service Bus by Apache Software Foundation, called Mule, for custom integrations. Mule is built on Spring Integration and it is used to transform messages from our XML format to another format like JSON. Our Mule framework utilized the open source product, Apache ActiveMQ, for asynchronous communications and an MS SQL Server database for logging and traceability of messages.
• One such custom Mule integration was between Edge OMS and Mercury Gift Card API. When an Edge user wanted to pay with a gift card, I wrote a module that makes a RESTful Web Service call to Mercury to verify there was sufficient balance on the gift card to cover the purchase, and then the module would issue the “Sale” transaction to Mercury’s servers.
• Another custom Mule integration was between Edge OMS and the Enterprise Email Marketing Platform, YesMail API. The challenge of processing a message in Edge’s HTML format to Yesmail’s JSON format was only in setting the proper file encoding on the inbound endpoint so as to properly translate the trademark symbol.
• Utilized TortoiseSVN windows explorer shell interface to checkout projects, then committed fixes to Edge and Mule bugs reported by clients and support.
• Successfully performed multiple revision merges between repositories and reintegrated various branches along the way, using the TortoiseMerge tool.

• Based on my unit testing experience mentioned in previous positions, an automated JavaScript unit testing environment was an initial request that the manager made of me. During proof of concept phase, I discovered that Jasmine could not be used for unit testing a Rich Internet Application of this sort and Selenium was only useful when used with MVC applications with a JSP or Confidential user interface.

• Worked on Confidential (Backbone Request Tracker), a Java EE 5 and Struts web application which maintained orders for Network equipment.
• The application ran on Oracle WebLogic 11g and conversed with an Oracle 11g Database and other systems via the IBM product, MQSeries and SOA Suite 11g.
• Wrote and tested SQL scripts in TOAD. Leveraging Spring Framework, I added value to Confidential with automated Spring/JUnit tests for the Business and DAO layers. Integrating the Spring Framework into Struts was attained with a Groovy script that processed the Struts configuration file and created proper Spring Context files so that Dependency Injection of Spring service beans into Struts Actions could occur. A brute force testing approach was used to validate the integrity of the context files.
• Implemented AJAX on a Confidential screen to allow dropdown filtering on the client side
• As build manager, I created and installed builds on the UAT environment. A Unix Korn shell script was used to combine all the commands but at the core was the Java based build tool, Ant with WebLogic Plugins. • Build Decomposition: As Lead of Build Decomposition, I used Sonar and JDepend to analyze cyclic dependencies in Java code. With a methodical and pragmatic approach to JDepend report analysis, I determined that overuse of Java packages lead to cyclic dependencies among modules and classes. This made unit testing a single module less straightforward and therefore less likely to occur. For many refactoring exercises, IntelliJ Confidential was utilized for its built-in RegEx style Find/Replace utility, as well as an equally fast undo feature.
• After removing Cyclic Dependencies, a Bash script was used to create new projects based on Standard Directory Layout and automate the conversion of a single source tree into a modularized and maintainable project. A Bash script that created an SVN workspace and refactored the single source tree was ready to move through the Quality Assurance phase.
