Software Engineer and Founder
Responsibilities:
- Used C# to call a third-party email-to-JSON service which returned results to an in-house Web API to create an imaging system that users - using specific keywords in the subject line - could email documents to their workflow systems and the system would append the documents to the correct process and task.
- Allowing the users to send documents directly from the scanner instead of uploading the scanned document saved the client over four thousand employee-hours per year.
- Application Integration System
- Built a software integration client using C# Web API and a custom Windows service. The API would receive service requests from the third-party software, integrate them into the client’s system and assign and alert the user to the request based on a load-balancing algorithm. The Windows service would regularly check for updated results files, then send those files back to the third-party system.
- By eliminating the need for user interaction, clients were able to recognize cost savings equivalent to up to four full-time employees and reduce turn-around times for their services by 10-20%.
- Client File Management Portal
- Designed, built, and implemented a management portal for companies to upload files to be processed by the client using ASP.NET. Used C# to build a business logic layer, SQL Server 2012 for the data layer, and HTML/JavaScript/CSS/Bootstrap for the user interface.
- The application tied into the client’s other processing applications via both web services and RESTful APIs, depending on the particular application and whether it was hosted in-house or externally.
- Worked with the client on an ongoing basis to train administrators on how to use the system as well as write simple JavaScript functions to use within the application.
- These changes enabled the firms to increase their caseloads by an average of 25% within eighteen months.
- Service of Process Workflow
- Built a service of process workflow system using HTML5 and communicating to SQL Server via JavaScript.
- Using JavaScript API calls, increased the client’s profitability by directly linking the software to courthouses throughout the state of Florida to automatically send court documents electronically as well as to their clients’ web-based software systems.
- This system allowed the companies to decrease their time to launch and their time to profitability by at least 30%.
