Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for building web applications and web services for the PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Management) and pharmacy home delivery businesses (OptumRx). The technology used for building software solutions are Microsoft .Net, Oracle database, Java and Sybase. All solutions in corporate simplification, best practices, design patterns, object oriented modularization, unit testing, deployment scripts, and multi-tier readiness when applicable.
  • Enhanced, and developed, new web services for the RxClaim drug claims processing system. The IBM Web Sphere Java web services connect to the AS400 RxClaim backend system.
  • Lead the re-engineering, restructuring, and ongoing enhancements of the Mail System (online mail order pharmacy) and Call Tracking (customer service web base call logging system) web applications. The re-engineering achieved better product support, stability, shorter development life-cycles, and the agility to meet new business requirements. As a result, the cost of ownership of the applications decreased by an average of 40-50%.
  • The Mail System web service is built using Microsoft WCF. The web service integrates with the RxExpress pharmacy home delivery system using web services in the backend that processes incoming Rx refill orders and manages member’s information. Prior to RxExpress, the web services integrated with the McKesson's MailRx (using Tomcat, Java, Java RMI, and Sybase).
  • Rxportal (member portal website built in Java) and mobile applications products also leverages the Mail System web service. Due to the forward thinking structure of the Mail System web application and web services, the Rxportal team was able to integrate and deliver within six weeks an online mail order product to their health members.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide internet business solutions and direction for the Medical System Group division’s Confidential (www. Confidential .com) extranet web application. The extranet contains over 6000 product specific documents that Customer Service, Field Service Engineers, and Sales Reps., use to support sales and customers in North America, Canada, and Latin America.
  • Design and build the UML business model, security scheme, as well as the JavaScript and C# re-usable component objects. Additionally, standardize the programming and naming conventions for the Confidential application to lower the cost-of-ownership and decrease development time.
  • Migrated the Confidential application from VBScript to a manageable Microsoft C# .Net solution.
  • Migrated over 2000 static HTML pages that contain product information to a manageable XML, JavaScript component, and DHTML solution. The solution reduces content posting time from two hours to two minutes. The solution also enables the application to be distributed on DVD every fiscal quarter to employees in the field servicing and supporting customers.
  • Built a Quiz Assessment application using ASP, VBScript, and SQL Server 8.0. Converted the application to ASP.NET environment.
