Experience Summary:

  • I have been a Senior UNIX Systems and Network Administrator for more than ten years, both as consultant and full time employee. I have worked for different companies using many UNIX technology platforms e.g., Solaris, Free BSD, and Linux . My experience includes support of complex Sun and Linux clusters with HA technologies. I have planned, architected and implement disaster recovery environments. I believe in using the right technologies to solve company challenges.
  • I've recently worked as a SAN architect using, IBM, LSI Engenio and EMC Clarion storage technologies providing design, implementation and support efforts to small and mid / large computing environments. This also included implementing and supporting direct attached storage solutions as lower costs and lower maintenance efforts. I've also used many defacto standard monitoring tools snmp server/agent based to architect and support production environment 7x24.
  • I'm very motivated and can work independently on projects varying in complexity. I also work effectively as a team member, taking direction and producing results above expectations. I'm known for getting projects done and being effecting in producing measurable results to an organization.
  • I can work equally well with technologies normally associated with network administration as well as systems administration. This includes the ability to support and debug networks from the administration level DNS, SMTP, etc. down to the hardware and protocol level TCP-IP, use of protocol analyzers, etc. . I'm also familiar and used Cisco, checkpoint 3Com, HP, Netscaler and F5 networking equipment.
  • I also have implemented and use OpenSource host and network monitoring tools such as Nagios, Cacti, BigBrother, NMS, Ganglia, Zenoss and managed large public facing sites using Cfengine.
  • Because of my experience in many different environments and industries, I understand the importance of procedures and documentation. While I am able to solve problems quickly when firefighting is needed, I also emphasize design, implementation, and documentation of procedures that increase reliability and simplify maintenance over the long term.
  • I have excellent communications skills and enjoy solving problems. I believe I bring more than technical solutions to a company, but process and people skills as well. I look forward to meeting with you in person
