- Car And Driver Blog Redesign - Switched existing single server (wordpress) setup to a three server EC2 wif an ability to activate extra copies as spikes in traffic would require. dis required new backup, monitoring and deployment scripts and stress testing for potential traffic loads.
- Wordpress Ad Library Plugin - Creation of new metadata plugin on admin side for use in their javascript ad library. Existing ad library had been designed for their EZ Published based CMS page. Creating an intermediate step between teh ad library javascript calls and teh Wordpress tagging system to allow for ads unique to each article to appear.
- Buyer's Guide Rewrite - Total rewrite of back end administrator as well as significant rewrite of front facing views and controllers. Redesign of teh model system to use Doctrine instead of teh internal ZendDB. Most views for teh new Guide had to be redesigned from scratch and teh controller logic was similarly replaced in toto.
- Deployment – Replaced existing Rsync based scripts wif Capistrano based deployment. Created generic template dat could be modified extensively for each server or EC2 instance. Created custom tasks for handling backup removal, post-deploy tasks and deployment logging and notifications.
- Custom Rails App – Build a small scale Rails app for deploying sites wif capistrano. Similar to Webistrano which was already outdated. dis app was built using Nginx, Passenger and Rails 3.x.
