  • EPRO system receives measured pressure and temperature via a PWM signal.
  • The system displays measured pressure and temperature values on a display unit and also keeps log of the temperature and pressure in text file on the Flash File System of the unit.
  • These logs help in keeping track of health of the oil well.
  • The system was modeled using OO systems design techniques.
  • Designed & developed an Event Logger module which provides logging of events (error or warning) information for diagnostic purpose.
  • The system supports 100 event log records.
  • When the event log memory gets full, the oldest record gets overwritten with the newest record.
  • Worked on redesigning of Modbus communication protocol for communication between the Remote Terminal Unit and the PC over Serial and TCP/IP interface.
  • Designed and developed 8500/8550 Communication protocol between the Remote Terminal Unit and the PC over Serial Interface.
  • This is a Weatherford’s proprietary product. Got experienced with various synchronous/asynchronous communication interfaces and protocols.
  • Designed and developed Variable Speed Drive Controller. It controls the speed of pump depending on load and position sensor’s data.
  • This module helps the system to adjust it speed or even stop the pump depending upon the presence/absence of the oil level in well.
  • Designed and developed Log Retrieval Module. The module retrieves the data logs from the Flash File System of RTU and stores them in Modbus Registers so that user can get them.
  • The module has predefined filters using user can get the data according to their requirement.
  • The filter condition would be depending on time stamp, threshold value, etc.
  • Designed and developed Alarm Handling Module. The module keeps watch on any parameter and raises alarm if the parameter’s vale goes below or beyond (as defined). The alarm gets flagged with help of LED’s.
  • The alarm also gets logged to Flash File System with the time stamp
