WORK HISTORY

Full Stack Web Developer

  • As a full stack web developer on their small team, I developed in-house CRM/DRM web-based software and webpages utilizing both LAMP Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP and .NET C /ASP/SQL Server 2008 technology stacks for CarFinance.com. Car Finance Capital, LLC grants auto loans both straight to subprime credit customers 525 to 675 FICO and offers financing solutions for dealerships that wish to find auto loans for their customers. I spent equal time developing in the databases, the back-end web services, the back-end code powering their front-facing websites, and the front-end of those websites. Web/Software Engineer
  • As one of a few software engineers for Fox's NEO department under the Fox Entertainment Group, I worked on all application tiers and completed various software and web applications primarily involved with both Fox On-air Graphics FOG for pre-recorded/live TV show broadcasts and file/security transfer management of the assets for those broadcasts. I helped to design, build, and serve applications on coordinated SQL Servers, Linux servers, and Windows boxes as well as a WCF web service API allowing for data mediums of these formats: XML regular/schemed/POX/WSDL2/SOAP , GET/POST, and JSON. The FOG API allowed for serialization, service contracts, and data contracts. For source control, we used Mercurial with hgTortoise . I also managed and extended some of the SQL tables and procedures. ASP .NET controls included Telerik's rad controls. My projects here primarily used MVC3-based and non-MVC-based C /ASP .NET 2.0-4.0 .NET 4.5 just for testing async singleWSDL , C WCF SOAP/REST , JavaScript jQuery , XML, HTML/CSS3, java applet de-compilation/editing/deployment, and a bit of Python on a Linux backend when I reverse-engineered the Satellite Reel Promo ID Generator to modify the connection headers of each Python web service call that fed the application in order to provide correctly-configured cross-domain communication after the app broke due to a server move. I also built from scratch a file directory-syncing Windows service in C to sync up an infinite number of files/servers of large TV show video segments with each other via FTP or SFTP which I also coded to trigger the stored procedures I coded which added/edited/deleted the corresponding SQL Server database model I extended via the stored procedures I coded. These apps power thousands of TV show video submissions for Fox. I also guided the quality assurance QA staff how to create and save for re-use logical automation tests in Selenese to bulk-test every function or service call of the FOG WCF API FOG Fox On-air Graphics . The unit tests were accomplished through a fork of the broken Selenium RC drivers that I extended with helper functions that made commands easier and tests more thoroughly random and fixed Selenium is dropping the RC driver for the Selenium2 release due to limitations/errors that they couldn't resolve but I provided a work-around of those errors for Fox's QA team by coding an in-between library which overcomes those issues in C to finally enable correct functioning of those drivers and used Selenium RC remotely controls different web browsers via NUnit code from instructions given through code as well as the IDE to simulate and automate real user interaction unit tests and assertions.

At Xerox's Affiliated Computer Services now called Xerox State Healthcare, LLC , I worked on the front-end of the California State Department of Health's website which provided doctors and hospitals all across the state the ability to answer government-configured questionnaires that would provide the government the variables necessary to decide how much money the doctors/hospitals would earn back from California's EHR Incentive Program, which is a Medi-Cal government program service that rewarded medical service providers for certain behaviors. I was the CSS3 guy for cross-browser compatibility and also provided some accompanying JavaScript to provide a perfect-looking interface which looked and functioned exactly the same in all major browsers. My concentration was to make every pixel, line, button, page, column, and text both beautiful and appropriate across all major browsers.

At Care Innovations, I was revamping and developing part of the front-end of a Patient Management System PMS which is called Virtual Care Suite . It is jQuery-based and utilizes CSS3, HTML, JSON data, and lots of JavaScript. It also supported touchscreen devices of any size down to a certain minimum. While I was there, I extended and heavily modified the Google Calendar-based FullCalendar design in its simplest state jQuery plug-in to spec and designed it for touchscreen devices of almost any size. It supports drag-n-dropping of events, monthly/weekly/daily views, recurring events, color-coding of timespans and events, has a feature-rich library to work with, and is innately coded to support events from public Google Calendars. In my work at the project there, I primarily just used JavaScript's jQuery for DOM manipulation with the jQuery mobile framework for touch events. More specifically, these touchscreen devices were created as part of this in-home medical care system which targeted seniors to reduce health costs -- instead of living in a hospital or paying for an in-home medical staff, these patented devices would automatically monitor various aspects of the senior's health and report those variables to a remote hospital or medical staff. Using my FullCalendar plug-in, the doctor/nurse/patient could always stay informed of events, see color-coded signals for changes in health through time, and schedule new events with each other as well as analyze the changes in health variables/alerts through time at the touch of the screen. Since these Linux-driven devices ran the apps within web browsers and were touchscreen, I utilized only mobile-ready JavaScript controls throughout. Also, since these devices came in different sizes, I always programmed every shape and object within the controls/layout to size up and display according to proportion and percentage, providing a smooth, fluid layout for every device.

As a software engineer I was the primary developer to work on extending OneLogin.com's most widely recognized product: their IE web extension. My projects here primarily used C and a bit of JavaScript jQuery , SAML, XML, and HTML/CSS. I also integrated to the Windows OS account password-changing processes to grab account passwords before they are hashed out. Since this can happen at the Windows Logon screen, the .NET framework couldn't be used. Instead, I used a combination of C and low-level C. This was so your company's employees can't change and hide their passwords from our syncing services.

As web developer I was one of a few individuals that developed and maintained impreMedia's online publications/websites. I also integrated the company's news authoring software's NITF News Industry Text Format output to the Drupal and WordPress CMS systems. Work here used Drupal, WordPress, a custom CMS, PHP, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, XML, jQuery, Google Analytics/Ads, and NewsML. Beyond standard webpage development, I worked with the Facebook API to enable fast, social sharing of news in real-time with friends. impreMedia is the US's largest Hispanic news media publication company and primarily makes their money from their high-traffic websites. I primarily worked on their highest-traffic website La Opini n in a variety of ways, front and back, but I also carefully managed their Google-powered ad analytics tracking on the front-end, back-end coded templates, plugins, and framework for delivery. The backend PHP code was both modular and handled/served data in a mostly MVC format. Besides content delivery, the most important goal was to serve Google ads in the most profitable way we could by caging content with auto-refreshing ads and splitting content over several pages. There was no empty space, just like in a newspaper or magazine, but they preferred strictly-sized webpages instead of fluid design due to the complication for the page designers who would print out their designs on paper and hand to me to code into existence. Image/video assets were served up via CDN.
