Senior Application Developer

Responsibilities:
  • I worked on an e-commerce website dedicated to warrant payments by individuals who owed court costs (outstanding tickets, court fees, etc.).
  • System used Magtek card readers tied to police cruiser laptops to perform credit card transactions through the Bridgepay system.
  • I also worked (but not major part of job) on Authorize.net transaction system. .
  • Website was open to the public for at-home warrant payments. System used PHP, MySQL and the Fat-Free framework for operation.
  • Most of the work performed was to add needed features like better backend reporting and digital signature capabilities to the existing platform.

Migration Architect

Responsibilities:
  • I entered a contract to perform migration of hardware server systems to cloud infrastructure. This contract was extended to include the migration of two top fortune 500 companies.
  • Job consisted of planning all stages of migration, including building staging and production cloud systems, network creation, scripting of automated functions, security hardening, and final move/turnover of each website.
  • Systems were a mix of Linux and Microsoft servers, including several clustered systems requiring F5 load balancer build outs (also virtual). Some of the sites required additional work including file storage and back office server migration.
  • Additional requirements were handled as they came up, such as database migrations and methods to encrypt/transfer large content to the new cloud datacenter for each site.
  • I also handled most of the engineering side of the migration which consisted of modifying configuration files for each website for SQL connections and troubleshooting code on the new platforms (PHP, .NET) for both IIS and Apache.

PHP/MySQL Programmer

Responsibilities:
  • This was a six month contract that was extended to one year.
  • Contract was created by GBCR within BOA and I was assigned to work under the lead of the GIS Department to move metric data to a new system. After the migration my contact was extended and I was put in charge of the front end design and layout of a primary metric dashboard used throughout BOA.
  • Primary duties were to improve layout and design of the dashboard, add needed features as requested, and to create new metric functions on a monthly basis.
  • A main feature I added to the system was an automated approval and Point of View system.
  • Additional features that I developed on the system were an automated e-mail based approval system, metric feedback, POV information feedback, and various website improvements to the original CSS website layout.
  • The automation of the metric system saved countless hours of manual labor in our department and provided rapid deployment of the newest datasets throughout BOA.

Website Migration/ASP.Net Developer

Responsibilities:
  • Hired for a year-long contract to perform a website migration from their original HTML/PHP system to a 3rd party system developed in Canada.
  • Website migration consisted of removing and re-formatting all company and product data as the new web server was developed.
  • While project was in progress I developed a separate ASP.NET stand-alone application to perform image manipulation on the catalogue of several thousand photo ready files.

Responsibilities:
  • Was in charge of installation of pre-packaged software applications (based on PHP and ASP) and extensively modified it on the client and server side. The entire site is tied into Google’s Analytics and Adwords API to create an online advertising campaign with real-time reporting of advertising performance and click-through conversions.
  • Ecommerce site designs consisted of several pre-made package applications that were installed and tested on Microsoft 2008 Servers.
  • Domain Name Registration, SSL Certificates, and integration with credit card gateway systems (Authorize.net) were programmed and tested per customer specification.
  • One of the solutions we offered was a conversion of the PHP Social Engine application from a Linux (LAMP) based OS to a Microsoft (WAMP) based OS by encapsulating the APACHE web server, the application, and the DB (MYSQL) into a single installation package that would work alongside IIS and MSSQL on the same machine.
