As a full-time employee, supported the Blue-Card team. This system provided Regence with a method of sharing claim information with all other ‘Blues’ insurance companies. This was important for timely claim payments when members were treated by plans outside the Regence area. The system ran batch and CICS jobs on a mainframe with data stored on DB2.

As a consultant, performing as a programmer/analyst, participated in the conversion of Commercial Loan Systems (of all the banks acquired by First Interstate) to the AFS System. Responsibilities involved mapping old data fields to fields in the system, writing conversion programs to create input transactions, monitoring daily posting runs, and developing programs to interface the new commercial loan system with other systems. Work was performed using COBOL and DATA-XPERT.

As a member of the Wells Fargo merger team, installed a CICS system (from Wells Fargo) into existing First Interstate systems. Responsibilities included copying, modifying, testing and installing online and batch screens, programs and files.

The system tracked equipment and materials at energy generation plants. It would create preventative maintenance work orders, track status of all work orders, track employees and hours against each task, and provided users with the ability to enter pertinent user data. This batch and online system was developed using CICS, COBOL, and VSAM in an IBM 4381 environment using MVS, TSO/ISPF, LIBRARIAN and PANVALET.

As a consultant assigned to the Bonneville Power Administration, performed as technical lead to a team of 11 programmer/analysts in the analysis, design and development of a Land Tracking System. The system tracked ownership, right-of-way and uses of land parcels needed for the construction of towers, which support high-tension lines. Developed the model program that led to the development of more than 60 CICS programs and 40 screens that read and updated records from an ADR DATACOM relational database containing over 30 files. Other assignments involved performing as a database consultant to other development teams and users. The environment also included COBOL, LIBRARIAN, CEDF, INTERTEST on an IBM 4381 under MVS/XA.
