Overview
I was the Technical Project leader for many data base conversions from legacy systems to new server based systems for many Divisions of Cooper Industries both here and abroad. Using mainly Cobol and the ETL tool Ascential Data Stage to extract data from master files and then using Data Stage to harmonize, scrub and build load files for material masters, Sales Orders, Customer, Agent and EDI tables along with a host of supporting files. I also wrote multiple LSMW programs to load and correct data for the production loads.
I was involved in the initial planning and development of the systems, programs and building data structures for the new systems. I served as a key individual for the Quality Assurance and production loads of these systems. I was in charge of reviewing all Data Stage jobs that were created by the team of developers to make sure all parameters and test data matched the business requirements
I have programmed ETL jobs using IBM Data Stage extract Packs to SAP R/3 in order to extract data from the Customer Master, Material Master, Invoicing, Sales Order Master files, with these extracts I produced ad-hoc reporting for many of the business functions including finance, sales and distribution, new customer setup, inventory and invoicing.
Working with the business functions within Cooper Lighting I helped mapped data from, and put together scrubbing processes to cleanse and match data for all the major systems within SAP R/3 master files.
I put together many automated reporting jobs using Data Stage that delivered ad-hoc reporting to the business users in EXCEL formats to their email in box. These processes in IBM WebSphere included error processing in case a job would go down, an email was generated to the IT Department of the job that had the problem, so it could be corrected and rerun in a timely manner.
I have written many routines that converted data for one source to load to another source that had different Table values for the receiving system.
During my stay at Cooper Lighting I was re-assigned to the corporate staff of Cooper Industries to lead the technical conversions onto SAP for many of their Divisions. Below are the projects that I worked on from end to end of the implementations.

After being reassigned from Corporate the staff back to Cooper Lighting I was assigned the Lead for all Data Stage jobs to design, develop and test for all the reporting needs for Cooper Lighting.

Assigned Production support of all Data Stage jobs
Met with the users to analyze, design, code, and test Data Stage jobs to extract data from multiple sources for reporting needs.
Reviewed all Data Stage jobs coded by my team to verify accuracy and standards
Wrote Data Stage jobs to Extract Customer information from SAP to analyze and verify data input data was correct for all new customer setups
Wrote Data Stage jobs to extract sales order data for business reporting
Wrote Data Stage jobs to identify and correct invoicing problems
Setup many automated Data Stage jobs that produced EXCEL reports from SAP master data for the business community
Wrote Data Stage jobs that extract and formatted data to load into the BW (Business Warehouse) system
Designed and coded Data Stage jobs to de-dup the Customer master file which was used by all divisions of Cooper Industries
