Worked on the design, original implementation, maintenance, testing, trouble-shooting and sun-setting of the back-end of a 3-Tier Client/Server application called ISAT IBM Services Assistant Tool , which is an application used by internal sales at IBM, and external Business Partners of IBM, to assist in price quotes and the eventual contracting of Services and Hardware Maintenance Contracts with IBM in North America, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Originally, our OS platform was OS/2, but that soon changed to AIX. The server programs are written to run under CICS, almost entirely in PL/I which was later converted to C . The database used was DB2 surprise , and the updates and maintenance of the DB were implemented on AIX with Korn Shell scripts and Perl. The front-end was written in Java, with Swing as the framework. Communication between tiers was handled by MQSeries.

Developed LCF LOFS Control File, a rudimentary data dictionary Service, which is a CICS Service written in SAS C and 370 Assembler, that allows users on other platforms to easily access the LCF. While in R D, projects included High Speed Data Transport a higher speed ftp, with checkpoint/restart capabilities and the development and implementation of a Message Passing API, which is a flexible, platform-independent set of functions with TCP/IP as the underlying protocol, that allows application programmers to be unconcerned with the implementation specific aspects of TCP/IP.
