This project will redesign the current CONFIDENTAIL reporting environment to improve usability, productivity, and access to data. The objective of this project is to extend the functionality of the existing reports by redesigning, optimizing the solution with an alternative approach at the data model level and implement new report requirements as well.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing the reports that have bad performance
  • Collecting statistics for reports' performance
  • Worked closely with the data modeler to understand the data of the project and help implement a data model solution that works effectively with MicroStrategy
  • Optimizing the reports by using 'cooked table' solution
  • Writing ETL procedural code for new report requirements using Teradata loading utilities
  • Implemented the core schema in MicroStrategy which would be used by other report developers to develop the report
  • Worked with report developers to identify schema's required and implement the report effectively
  • Redesigned, developed and unit tested the reports
  • Be part of the reviews to provide architectural inputs
  • Migrated the reports from the development environment to the Testing environment
  • Responsible to co-ordinate with EDS Enterprise Data Solutions team for migration of reports from the Test to the Production environment

CONFIDENTAIL is one of the biggest finance systems' implementations in Intel's history. Its vision is to deliver the solutions that enable Finance to respond to the needs of the 100 e-Corporation. It is the first project that implemented using EDW Enterprise Data Warehouse architecture based on Teradata.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with data modeler to understand the data flow and develop ETL Extract, Transform, Load code
  • Writing ETL procedural code to upload data into EDW from source systems using Teradata loading utilities: Fast Load, TPump, and Multi-load
  • Applying query optimization techniques to get the better performance

  • Responsible for writing SQL stored procedures to extract, transform, and load data from SAP and do make this cleaned data available in Corporate Data Warehouse CDW for end-user's report requirements
  • Responsible for applying SQL optimization techniques like creating indexed views to improve the query performance
  • Responsible for importing or exporting code from one environment to another using DTS Data Transformation Services utilities
  • Monitored DW load cycles
  • Developed CDW reports using Cognos Impromptu tool to support Intel's capital business needs across the globe
