As an IT professional with the last 10 years as a SQL Server DBA, my experiences have allowed me to become proficient in tuning SQL server databases systems. This includes SQL server setup, database Data and log files location for better through put, Indexes for more efficient query, and T-SQL code prior to deployment. In a previous role with Echo Global Logistics, I was brought in for 3 months to help their primary DBA with the migration of SQL Server 2005 to SQL Server 2008 for both a standard and clustered environment. Along with the migration, I also supported 20 plus databases with the largest database being over 500 Gigabytes in size. My position with Rosenthal Collins called for correcting several performance issues, and problems with critical database mirroring. I've also provided management with further environment changes that allow more flexibility with the SQL platform that should handle expected growth over the coming years by taking advantage of SQL Server 2008 R2, VM, and SAN technology. In my time with Memorial Health University I migrated several legacy applications up from SQL 2000 to SQL 2008 R2 I've taken on an Oracle migration project to move an application from Oracle from 8i and 11G. Since being at Listrak I've moved sever production SQL server database from standalone server to our VM environment, and currently working with part of our development team to develop a plan to migrate SQL 2008 R2 databases to SQL 2012. Along with my current responsibilities at Listrak I'm also learning Hadoop, and Mongo technologies.

• Administer the 38 server SQL environment that contains a mixture of servers 2005 through 2012 that perform a high transaction batch e-mail process for our outfacing customer base. Our current work horse is a 3 terabyte database that contains customer product catalog information along with their customer mailing and e-mail address and information. I brought in a more robust monitoring tool from Idera that will allow the company to get ahead of issues before they impact the customer, this software will only monitor resource usage such as san storage, cpu, memory usage and database growth. It will also allow us to track trends to stay ahead of environment issues that will impact customer processing.
• I lead the project to move some primary databases on standalone physical boxes to the virtual VMware environment via new SQL 2008r2 server build outs, and now developing a plan to migrate them to a new SQL 2012 environment by mid-year. I Developed a Patch project to bring all servers up to the latest patch level for SQL server 2008 R2 for the current production environment, and 2012 for the development environment. I'm currently working with the development team on a project to reduce the size of what is currently our largest database and reduce it into smaller node sql installs segregating the data based on customer grouping. Along with this design as a traffic manager I designed a 3 server cluster configuration for the traffic manager from the development team that routes what nodes customer transactions are to take place. As a precaution to a possible outrage of the global routing system, I installed Always-on availability with an availability group, with a double failover configuration of 2 backup servers. Although I'm part of the operations team, a great deal of my time is spent working with the development teams in code review test methodology migration from dev to QA to Production. As a requirement of support of both dev teams I regularly attend their morning meeting and some sprint meeting dependent on the project at hand.
