Senior Data Analyst - Moon Twp, PA

Responsibilities:

Responsible for data analysis of large data sets using SAS Visual Analytics to perform advanced statistical and predictive modeling against the Package Level Profitability (PLP) 5.4TB Big Data data warehouse and presented analytical research findings to director-level senior management. Developed statistical models, decisioning graphics and imbedded predictive marketing analytics using SAS Customer Intelligence 360 to present “what if” analysis to the sales organization to aid in the development of regional product line agreements. Designed and implemented several daily, weekly and monthly ETL processes written primarily in Informatica aimed at analyzing data integrity, quality and viability. This involved writing complex multi-table PL/SQL routines to quickly extrapolate key performance indicators within each data set. Graphically designed, documented and executed all mappings and transformations, performed capacity planning, performance tuning, data validation, data mining and cleansing, partitioning, multi-level aggregations and complex transformations to populate the multi-terabyte Teradata Big Data EDW which housed the information for several director level reports. Designed graphical decisioning and visualization models using SAS against the Big Data EDW for presentation and collaboration with business stakeholders. Worked directly with the various business units to immediately resolve any functional or performance issues that arose as well as perform continuous improvements and functional enhancements as requested. Constantly evaluated ETL processes for performance tuning, efficiency, sustainability, scalability and load scheduling. Further responsible for the design, architecture and normalization of the underlying Oracle DW and database and composed associated ERD diagrams and conceptual and physical data models. This included conducting multiple joint application design (JAD) sessions with the various clients and business units to thoroughly understand their business processes and requirements. Managed small group of 4 PL/SQL contractors/developers to perform the underlying data validation and sensitive data cleansing. PLP, architected primarily in Informatica Agile Integration, pulls data from 27 various data sources and transforms the data into a staging database containing package level, station level, and linehaul level information. The application pulls approximately 40 million packages, 600 million scans, and 120 million linehaul routes on a daily basis from the various data sources and uses complex logic to develop package revenue and costs, shipment scan history, point-to-point linehaul, and accessorial costs (i.e. return to shipper, multiple delivery attempts, hold at location, etc.) to transform and compile the data using OBIEE dimensional modeling into the star-schema Teradata data warehouse which houses historical scan data in several billion+ row tables. The data sources include various Oracle tables, Terradata Big Data tables, upstream AbInitio and Informatica ETL feeds, flat files, excel files, and XML feeds. All application development done adhering to strict guidelines of all phases of the System Development Lice Cycle (SDLC) and following Agile SAFE Framework methodologies.
