Responsibilities
- Understand the requirements of the clients and create estimates for the projects.
- Work on proposals for improving the process and value add to existing solutions.
- Prepare the design document with the listing of various sources, targets and impacted systems.
- Work on the necessary changes to the Logical or physical data models.
- Create test cases, Test plan or Test scripts for testing the requirements.
- Communicate with the System Of Records (SOR) for the changes planned for this release.
- Communicate with the DBA team for all the teradata component changes, access requests, archival process, etc and work on the necessary DDL/DCL documents.
- Identify the process to extract the data from various sources and modify or construct a program for fixes and other enhancements as per the requirement of the client.
- Get mapping confirmation from SOR and downstream.
- Create CA7 (PODS)/Autosys requests for all the scheduling changes.
- Do the required code changes, if Mainframes JCL, PROCS, Parms or Programs or Informatica/Hadoop transformations
- Create Changeman/Endevor package for all the mainframe code changes that has to be installed as part of this change. Migrate Informatica/Hadoop code from test to prod environment
- Organize meetings with various team to successfully receive the data in W.
- Build SIT and UAT environments for testing in lower(test) regions.
- Test the data with all conceivable conditions in the SIT and UAT cycles so that errors can be solved out before the production.
- Update metadata and data lineage that are impacted as part of the project.
- Get architect approval for the proposed changes.
- Get User Signoff for the changes planned for the install.
- Prepare for the Change control process and review required for the implementation.
