Confidential, Tucson, AZSr. Data Warehouse Developer
Responsibilities:
- Big Data Use Case: Being the biggest Missile Company in the world meant dealing with complex, ever growing missile data, and to help various engineers make sense of what it is that goes wrong during flight, tests etc. Our pilot project used Hadoop (Spark, Python, Pig, Sqoop, Ambari, Hive) to crunch petabytes of data collected by sensors during the flight of a certain branch of missiles. Based upon the data collected during certain tests, that data, once sifted thru Spark RDD, and cleansed (via Pig & Sqoop) is channeled up into the predictive logarithm capabilities of Hadoop (tested via Python predictive library) as well as we tested it thru SAP HANA’s predictive library (PAL) for comparison sake, to help identify key data markers for future malfunctioning areas even before they occur. For that final stage of Data Visualization, we created the real-time dashboards on SAP Lumira.
- Worked with a team of developers to Install, Configure, and deploy a multi-clustered Hadoop Sandbox.
- Developed POC predictive analytics using engineering dept. sensors that collect data (IOT technologies) and using Hortonworks Hadoop platform (Spark) as the front-end solution.
- Help guide the Architecture of standardizing ETL (Informatica) best practices in the BI Department.
- Tested predictive algorithms libraries of R Studio vs. HANA PAL, vs. Python Predictive APIs to compare and contrast which would best fit our scenarios.

- Assisted in migration from SAP BusinessObjects 3.x to 4.x platform, providing guidance on sizing, load balance, systematic deployment and scale-up options.
- Spent extensive amount of time understanding data requirement of various business departments (Supply Chain, HR, and Finance etc.) and then devising solutions to meet their goals.
- An End-to-end professional; from meeting with Business Customers to understand their Data requirements, to working with the Modelers, to ETL, to Report/Dashboard application, to hand-off to a sustaining team.
