Responsibilities:

• Implemented the real time monitoring features of this product that deals with collecting traffic and performance data of the devices deployed in the entire network and provides end to end network visibility in the form of correlated views having trending data and underlying events. Designed the core of the system, which runs in a JBoss clustered environment, as a suit of fault tolerant highly available modular services using JMS, EJB and distributed caching technologies. These services distributes the process intensive tasks, like collecting data from end devices using Confidential channel or aggregating statistics for hierarchical network nodes, using map reduce paradigm to multiple slave services running on individual JBoss server nodes through asynchronous messaging. These services also feed loosely coupled downstream data processing modules for analysis and persistence using JPA, Hibernate and MySQL. Data, thus collected, is rendered on UI through MVC framework based presentation layer components using ExtJS technology and through RESTful API to client orchestration systems in their private cloud environment. • Product Architecture and Development: I performed following assignments in this role.
• Development of “Directory Data Service” as a Lead of 5 member engineering team - a XML-RPC based web service for integrating LDAP servers with the product to provide real time authentication and address resolution functions required to process inbound and outbound messages. This feature was developed to enable the product handle very large directory servers (500K+ users) of enterprise customers and released for shipping in 2009.
• Enhancement of the “Brightmail Control Center”, a MVC architecture based administration console for the product, with two major functionalities - a dashboard to display real time statistics of critical parameters of the system like most recent top 5 viruses etc. and a subsystem to hold the incoming messages in quarantine queue for viewing and release by the user later on. This work involved interfacing the product with a 3rd party reporting s/w “Kavachart”, developing Tomcat based server side java components to handle high volume message traffic and presentation layer components like JSPs and Struts action classes.
• Made significant contribution in two major releases of “ Confidential Brightmail Gateway” and many minor releases since 2007.

• Development of CDI Member Interface System, which is used by Visa to offer its member banks on-line analytical processing capabilities off its transaction data warehouse in the form of ‘Subscribable Service’. This application is developed using J2EE technology on WebSphere application server and is integrated with Netegrity Siteminder based authentication infrastructure of Visa to support ‘single sign-on’ and interfaced with Microstrategy Business Intelligence Server to render its OLAP capabilities over the web.
• Development of Fraud Analysis and Reporting System using layered MVC architecture to run on IBM’s WebSphere application server cluster in AIX environment and having integration with ILOG Rule Engine server (3rd part product) and backend legacy system on IBM mainframe using IBM MQ Series.
