- I developed the product road map, business model and software stack after evaluating the latest technologies.
- I built the software stack from the ground up thinking about UX (User eXperience) in the front end and scalability responsiveness in the back end systems.
- Client applications include a merchant web page for searching which applications are in their geo-spaced area and which inventory to involve in the application, Application End Users are given a choice of an Android or iPhone mobile augmented reality application using existing an augmented reality SDK.
- I created a RESTful Big Data cloud back end into the platform to be able to store data and meta data about the application.
- The back end services included timestamped activity (Cassandra), MongoDB, Redis (caching) and MySql.
Senior Software Systems Architect
Confidential
Responsibilities:
- Designed an activity engine that processed streaming timestamped activity METS (metobolic equivalents) data for data visualization, graphs, and persisted to an android Content Provider. Developed RESTful Big Data cloud back end services to store timestamped activity (Cassandra) and food intake (MongoDB).
- The application used built in camera for image recognition (tags provided by IQEngines (Yahoo)), food calorie and nutrition information (provided by FatSecret api), restaurant location (via yahoo maps) and speech recognition.
- Input food intake, weight, height, age and sex to establish baseline caloric requirements and display data graphically for real-time activity, daily activity and caloric budget.
- Architect from scratch the system software stack for a meeting room to control a Google Hangout via an xmpp api (GVC).
- The api was built in collaboration with various Google engineering teams such as GTalk. A touch screen enabled table top controller embedded device based on Beagleboard ARM7 on Angstrom Linux. I designed a QT C++ web rendering application based on a model view presenter software layer to interface with Sequence Design Firms UI (javascript api designed by me), xmpp, and the controller’s LED, audio and other hardware subsystems. The controller was connected to a main computer whose systems were also architected by me that utilized web sockets to communicate with Controller, Rabbit MQ publish/subscribe messaging system to work with underlying Ubuntu linux based subsystems such as NodeJS, hdmi, video, web camera control, power and network. Assumed Director of Software Engineering duties interfacing with hardware team for six months while continuing to architect until a suitable replacement was found.
- I architected from scratch utilizing the QT C++ and the Confidential framework a video conferencing network application designed as a main Signaling orchestration process (acceptor) with various plugins (connectors) for media transcoding.
- The first prototype allowed for Lync clients to talk to Confidential endpoints (meeting room and end user video IP devices) that converted signaling between SIP/H323 to MS-SIP and media transcoding from MS-SVC to H.264. Later versions were then integrated with Confidential ’s other technologies for ICE and firewall traversal and integration with ClearSea server.
- The final architecture was reused for Confidential current WebRTC client as a proxy to Confidential ’s Clearsea server in C++ and java based Confidential virtualized Multipoint MCUs (Multi Conference Units). OpenStack research was conducted by me for use for Confidential Cloud offering.
Senior Staff Software Engineer
Confidential
Responsibilities:
- Developed the first iPhone peer to peer messaging instaChat mobile application iCrowdSurf (precursor of FireChat) based on Bonjour Discovery Services and BEEPLike protocol Submitted before the 2008 opening of the App Store this application allowed for the creation of crowds so users can message each other without a centralized server.
- Architect the Global LockBox secure Cloud compartment storage model. Wrote Adobe Air Flex windowed application front end and RESTful web services on Glassfish java with Mysql backend. Develop WebDav based Global LockBox Virtual Drive on linux along with installers for Windows, Linux and Macintosh. Based on Confidential ’s "Patent for Personal Portal and Secure Information Exchange”
- Built Confidential ’s Autodiscovery device scanner (Connection Manager) in C++ linux which found IP devices that exists in a given network to obtain fingerprint information (Operating System, version). Results of scans where written to Oracle database using OCI. Wrote java ajaxified ADF front end in JDeveloper 11G. Wrote a USB detector that logs to the Autodiscovery database when USB devices where toggled to a device.
- Created a java based runtime framework for flagship Machine and Service Modeler/Device Manager that allowed the models created to be instantiated against devices that were discovered in the Autodiscovery application. A java ajaxified ADF UI front end enabled control of the modeled devices such as a PIX firewall.
Staff Software Engineer
Confidential
Responsibilities:
- Developed user controls in an agile environment with bimonthly milestones to release the Embed Platform written with Ajax frameworks, ASP.Net 2.0, a C# ORM and MS SQL Server while using Subversion for source control, CruiseControl for continuous builds and NUnit for unit testing.
- Created search enhancements that allowed search results to perform faster by separating data items that appeared in search results versus detailed pages with data from various sources.
- Design and implement security model for asp.net 2.0 web application which included writing an .nmauth HttpExtension for IIS and various HTTPModules to control passing of tokenized encrypted credentials.
Senior Software Engineer
