Sr. Technical Architect

Responsibilities:

  • Project involved building a decentralized SQL Server solution at 33 Confidential prisons, and 40 fire camps.
  • Designed and built Infrastructure using Windows 2003 Server x64 Enterprise, and SQL Server 2005 Enterprise. The main database and application servers are housed at DTS so, a precise firewall and network design was required to establish proper communications and manageability.
  • Built a mobile test environment, which mimicked the 3 servers at DTS, 2 Domain Controllers, and 1 Institution server l created within a VMWare ESX server. Created a test environment hosted at the AeroJet facility, which also contains the same virtual servers. Created a data flow process for well-connected prisons, to non-connected fire camps for canteen sales activity. Developed a customized Data Transfer application using Visual Basic to transfer data through dial-up networking, SFTP servers, and institution file servers.
  • Resolved an interdepartmental network communications problem between Confidential and DTS. The culprit was Path-MTU Discovery not working over the Forest-to-Forest Trust, because ICMP was disabled on the DTS firewall to the Domain Controllers. Confidential

Technical Lead

The JJ division was using Novell NetWare file servers and its own Exchange organization. The productions servers were implemented using VMWare ESX technology including an 8 node ESX cluster using SAN technology. ESX was also used in many test lab scenarios where migration activities for various software tools: Quest, and SysInternals, etc. Provided post implementation L3 support. Helped the Wintel and Network teams with any escalated issues.
