RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

SR Data Scientist, Project Developer, Consultant

Confidential

Responsibilities:

  • Developing web-based projects involving secure data transactions and relevant networking and protocols.
  • Designing and developing webpages for customer needs as well as company infrastructure of Confidential
  • Major webpages requested by such customers as travel agencies, banks and some administrative authorities. Mostly coding was carried out starting from lowest level to complete for full control. If necessary, Zend was used as framework albeit rarely.
  • Back-end coding with PHP and data transactions through MySql databases on Linux Apache servers, i.e. LAMP, with HTML, CSS. PHP was also used for retrieving and manipulating data from XML and RSS resources, for example foreign exchange rate, weather and some other particular purposes.
  • Front-end coding with Javascript, jQuery, Ajax, HTML, CSS. Javascript and jQuery were also used to execute Flash plug-ins for animations if necessary.
  • All the webpages were created with their respective administrative panels as well as databases, mostly in MySql.Besides above business related webpages, I have recently built my own personal webpage with Wordpress theme programming with PHP for background coding, if necessary.
  • Developing data driven projects which involve intense use of machine learning and data mining algorithms mostly as predictive analytics tools for guiding various sectors involving educational, financial, health and possibly defense groups and institutions
  • We were asked to develop software pack for offering items, which can be of interest to customers, e.g. banks and travel agencies.
  • The software is a real-time background processing, which were running concurrent threads for their webpages written in Python or/and C++.
  • What this software does was to keep track of customer activities who visited their webpages web.
  • The machine learning algorithms involve regression-type algorithms, e.g. SVM and logistic regression to predict those items based on most probable entry for each customer and present them as a pop up window simply with use of collaborative filtering.
  • If they choose what have been offered then we iterate the choices and keep for further to rebuild a new history record.
  • Matlab and Weka for statistical model building, optimization and simulation and embedding onto server side with C++ and/or Python Scikit-learn library to build respective as well as MapReduce on Hadoop with use of Cassandra and Mahout for predictive data analytics.
  • R was also partially used for maintaining compatibility in open source development during model building.

Project Developer

Responsibilities:

  • we elaborated to develop a web-based evaluation (and prediction) scheme for students’ (future) performance in educational institutions such as schools or courses.
  • Due to categorical attributes, based on a newly developed clustering algorithm, which was publicized in publication list, student groups were identified as classes.
  • Resulting student groupings were classified with use of regression tree classifiers and were employed in decision-making.
  • Overall models were built and optimized as a Tikhonov (or Ridge) type regression classifiers depending on performance.
  • This project was initially thought in Hadoop file system with Mahout machine learning framework and Cassandra query language in Linux as an open source pack.
  • However, due to some technical issues between client-and server sides we failed to complete overall operations.
  • Then, we decided to carry out server-side coding as parallel and multi-threaded programming with Java server pages on apache servers with appropriate databases design of a medical device as a human-computer interface (HCI), which can be utilized in assessing medication intakes of epileptic human subjects, was aimed with use of multi-channel EEG waveform recordings.
  • For this purpose, a highly efficient and successful feature vector definition for multi-channel EEG waveforms in identifying epileptic seizure components was proposed and also used for predicting human emotion states.
  • Device has the flexibility of implementing embedded machine learning algorithms depending on objective, such as epileptic seizure monitoring or human emotional and behavioral assessment or prediction. Verification of the feature vector has been performed for regression and SVM-type classifiers.
  • Developing projects for control & communication applications and their embedded software and hardware implementations with use of C/C++ or Java technologies mainly for defense and environmental monitoring with remote sensing.
