PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Senior Escalation Engineer
Confidential
Responsibilities:
- Successfully migrated and deployed Office 365 for a number of clients. Ranging from 5 users to 65 users was typical. Most deployments I was able to perform a number of hands free migration from on - prem Exchange to Office 365 using Sky Kick so there was little to no user disruption.
- Maintained detailed project and network documentation with sensitive data held in Secret Server for each client. I made sure that I made myself available to the client after project to ensure that there were no unavoidable issues.
- Designed, Configured, Tested, and deployed numerous infrastructure upgrades and new installs for a wide range of clients and needs. Maintained and upgraded core and access switching for private companies as well as government entities such as police departments, town halls and water districts. Most consisted of switch, firewall, wiring, and WAP upgrades and configurations, SonicWALL upgrades/ replacements and configuring Site to Site and SSLVPN as needed. Made sure that all configurations met with compliance.
- Completed a number of projects that involved moving client’s off physical machines and on to a virtualized environment with replication to the cloud for redundancy and DR situations. Also being backed up and replicated to the cloud using eFolder and Replibit
- When deploying new switches to a stack or installing new hardware I also ensured that there were multiple uplinks, and port channels between the switches when stacking was not an option. Setup, labeled, and documented all vLan, LAG groups, and port or ether channel depending on existing hardware for redundant uplinks
- I was deployed to clients site a number of times per week, I quickly developed good relationships with clients and was able to become familiar with their infrastructure much quicker.
- I completed the CJIS certification as I had to work on police and municipalities. It involved an extensive background check, finger prints being placed on file and a test to complete the certification.
- I also assisted the ROC with escalations and other time consuming issues. I was given all the tickets that the others technicians were not able to resolve do to either time, resources, or experience.
Confidential
Network / Security Administrator
Responsibilities:
- Independently responsible for over 800 client backups using Veeam, ArcServe, Backup Exec, and Acronis. I monitored all clients’ backup jobs daily as well as retaining an up to date status of all clients’ backup jobs. I notified clients when jobs failed more than one day in a row as well as resolving all issues that caused the failure.
- Assisted Tier 1 and 2 support teams with difficult cases and projects. Assisted with the write up and statement of work. Tracked all jobs within Connect wise and ensured that the project or case was within the client’s allocated budget and time frame.
- Worked on call for 2 weeks a month for emergency calls and issues with a 30 minute S.L.A.
- Providing fast, effective and friendly assistance after hours and on weekends.
- Worked together with a very tight-knit team with the goal of cross training and faster case resolution. Helped to ensure that all cases in Connect Wise had been contacted or resolved as quickly and effectively as possible.
- Assisted with a number of office 365 migrations from as far back as On Premise Exchange 2007. Including testing the roll out so there would be as little user interruption as possible. Also assisted with the transition of our office's email system to Office 365 hybrid to completely Cloud based.
- Was part of the team that rolled out Logic Monitor to monitor all endpoints to a level as granularity as needed. Tied the Logic Monitor to ConnectWise so tickets would automatically get created on the alerts that were deemed urgent, Low Disk space, Failed Disk, etc.
- I wore a number of different hats while working this contract, they had a solid team and were very nice to work with. I was offered a full time position but I decided I was moving to Colorado, and I did a couple weeks after.
Independent Consultant
Confidential
Responsibilities:
- Monitored, secured and updated workstations, diagnosing and troubleshooting issues as well as reporting all findings; organized server room including rewiring, labeling and punching down wires in need of repairs or adjustments.
- Communicated effectively and delivered prime client relations to identify requirements and propose solutions and timelines.
- Designed, Configured, Tested, and Deployed 9 sites across the Country. Which consisted of 8 Cisco 5515 ASA with Firepower, 3 Cisco 5506 ASA’s, as well as Setup Site to Site VPN and MPLS circuit configuration.
- Each site has redundant Core switches and redundant Asa’s which I configured Stateful Failover/ Failback. I configured the 5506-X firewalls with a backup WAN uplink on a separate sub interface and separate vLans. On the WAN interfaces I configured SLA monitoring so if one WAN uplink lost connectivity the other would kick in and the routes would automatically switch, once the Primary Wan was back up they would pop back over and the end user would never be aware of any disruption.
- With the resources that I was given I did the best I could to try and limit any single point of failure and downtime. For Switches I used Meraki Ms320 and Ms220 switches for Core and Access Switches. In addition to that I also deployed 15 WAP (Wireless Access points) Also Meraki that that broadcast both an internal SSID and a guest network. I am currently in the process of connecting them to AWS and Office365 and they are going from an Onsite Exchange server to Hosted. However to make this transition as smooth as possible I have them currently running in a hybrid mode but will be migrating over to Hosted during the last week or so of the project
- This is a very brief summary of what I am currently working on. I can go into more detail if you have any specific question when we speak.

Security Administrator | Network Administrator
Responsibilities:
- I was the sole Security Administrator, ensuring that all Firewalls, switches, Access points and any other point of entry was checked on a daily basis
- Employed a number of different tools to accomplish tasks.
- I deployed the full suite of the Tenable Product line. Which included a Log correlation engine, a passive vulnerability scanner (PVS) and an active scanner. All of which utilized plugins that I would ensure were always up to date. Security center was another tenable product that I used daily. It was the hub that allowed me to view at a glance what was happening on the network.
- Deployed, configured and made sure that the Anti-Virus (Vipre) was running and always updated on all computers and workstations (It was deployed on around 700 devices)
- Worked out a project plan and implemented Silver Peak WAN optimization appliances in Confidential and at each of our 12 Satellite offices.
- When I started Confidential and all remote sites were using outdated physical appliances (Nx1700) that could not handle the concurrent connections. I was in charge of the upgrade and upgraded all eleven remote offices to virtual appliances (VX2000) and a (VX5000) in Confidential . This also vastly improved the speed of our network as we also implemented MPLS lines at all locations.
- On top of the Silver Peak upgrade we were also deploying a VOIP solution to all locations. All devices were touched by this and required extensive configuration on both sides of the line. I was in charge of deploying, setup, and training all users on the new phone system. Where most of the users were comfortable using an analog phone for a long time.
- Cisco firewalls in all locations. On average it saved us Thousands of dollars a month in bandwidth alone and increased the speed of the connections on average of 8- 10 times compared to what we were obtaining before.
- Maintained, upgraded and secured our Virtual environment. 95% of our 200-300 servers were all virtualized. We used VMware 5.5 Update 2. We were currently using vShield to protect all guests and as well as all traffic coming in and going out. We were in the process
- Of evaluating NSX as V-Shield has a number of short-comings when it comes to VMware 6.0.
