  • Worked with a fast-growing telecom provider to help them gain an understanding, manage growth and maintain their Nortel BCM 400 VoIP phone system moving forward.   • Worked as Technical Lead and Project Manager for the largest plumbing wholesaler in North America who has other business groups spanning the globe. Here, I performed a server lease refresh project of the multinational corporation’s data center of over 400 servers with a budget of approximately $1M for new hardware. New hardware included HP C - Class Blades and Enclosures. This had to be completed because; many servers were over or near their lease expiration date, many other projects needed hardware and upgrades, processes and procedures were lacking to keep track of server asset management and provisioning. Documented and implemented all procedures such as physical and virtual server provisioning and asset management. Worked with all departments; IT, Finance, Asset Management to coordinate this effort and design and implement new asset tracking procedures. Technical functions included migrating virtual machines from old blades to new blades in new enclosures using the HP Migration Tools, scanning network for servers and attributes to populate inventory, using various functions in Excel with CSV data output to provide meaning information and reports.   • Worked as Senior Systems Engineer for the industry leader in market share for crane and food service equipment. Here, I worked on projects to transition two Senior Systems Engineers out of the company to be able to help sustain business until replacements were hired for five months. In addition, I performed health checks, recommendations and made improvements to the enterprise environment working with MIIS, AD, DNS, Exchange and, Disaster Recovery. Collected Group Policy, local system settings and policies and, other information to measure how secure the environment was. Compared this information against the Department of Defense and Microsoft’s recommended baselines for a secure environment. Produced reports showing degrees of compliance and deviation from baselines and created a roadmap for the remediation of the items that deviated from the baseline. This was used in the supermarket chain’s decision in how to plan and prepare for the PCI audit where they would have been charged 4% of annual revenue from card sales if found not compliant.
  • As Engineer and Project Manager at a major hospital who sees over 1M patients per year, I developed the project plan to upgrade a Windows NT 4.0 domain to a Windows 2003 AD domain via an in-place upgrade process. Tested the process of the upgrade in a lab environment four times using a “swing” server with success each time. Upgraded domain successfully and seamlessly to the end users.
  • Worked for a transportation leasing firm as an Exchange engineer and migrated its users from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003 using the in place upgrade process. Performed cleanup and decommission of the legacy Exchange 5.5 environment.
