Responsibilities:
- Work in Active Directory to create accounts for accessing network resources and applications for end users. Including assigning permissions to users and security groups to access said resources.
- Use SolarWinds Orion Monitoring to assess server health and usage. Add nodes to monitor alerts for space usage, cpu usage, memory usage, and to monitor if node loses function to allow quick reaction to bring services back online.
- Assign users and groups to published applications in Citrix XenApp 6.5. Troubleshoot issues with users accessing applications and with saving files through published application.
- Monitor backups and troubleshoot issues with backups for financial applications. Restore backups to training databases to allow financial team to troubleshoot issues in a test environment for users.
- Work with end users within the building to manage accounts, group memberships, access to shared network resources in a Windows - based environment. Assist users with issues with printers, installing applications, imaging machines monitors, and general user incidents.
- Used ticketing system (ServiceNow) to receive and assign work, take notes, and keep callers and other parties up to date on current incidents being worked on.
- Conducted server maintenance consisting of monitoring storage space, CPU and memory usage, applying Windows Updates, and cleaning drives of temporary and old files to keep space up to date.

- Created a script to copy new updates for applications to Lab machines, disaster recovery machines, and Home directories of Finance Department
- Saves about 5-10 minutes per machine, does not require user to be at machine until actual installation.
- Created a script that searches for users that have passwords set to not expire in employee OU(s). Script creates a csv of the user accounts, then takes usernames from csv and sets password to expire. Script emails csv file to supervisor and myself every quarter.
- Created a script that searches the backup directories for financial application and reports back in an email the Directory, File names, and last modified date
- Used to remote into backup machine and manually check directories, or map network drive. 30 minutes to an hour of time each day. Now reduced to about 2 minutes total of checking dates
- Created a script that takes the financial backup directories and zips and archives them to the backup servers, then emails results
- Created a script that copies and renames specific backup files to the testing database server for easier restores.
- Leveraged a found script that gets the run as account for scheduled tasks and services to help move away from domain admin account usage, and to transition to using service accounts
- Created a script for Datawarehouse which finds files in specified user folders for concerning educational information and PII and copies them based on Last Write Time to a second server where Datawarehouse handles the files separately. Reduced from 10 batch scripts to one centralized script that runs Daily at one time.
- Learned more about Remote Desktop Services and implementing them to provide simple usage of applications
- Added Sophos Enterprise Console to two RDS servers to allow techs to access the Console outside of a VDI pool, reduce login time and usage of resources for VDI.
