SUMMARY
- Terraform for deployment of AWS, Kubernetes and 3rd party provider infrastructure.
- Chef experience mostly through AWS OpsWorks for managing EC2 instances.
- Docker platform for building/management of containers and container images.
- General Linux administration, mostly for Ubuntu and RHEL/CentOS systems. A lot of scripting or parsing already made BASH scripts into configuration management systems.
- AWS EC2 - Creation, management and upgrade of EC2 instances. Deployment of Network and Application Load Balancers. Administration of EBS volumes and associated snapshots.
- AWS S3, EFS and Glacier for scalable, managed storage at different tiers and performance levels.
- AWS VPC for network access and isolation. Experience wif peering multiple VPC’s and configuring complex layers of routing tables for public and private subnets.
- AWS API Management Gateway for usage throttling / limiting on presented API’s. me’ve also used it to version and document custom API’s and control external web based (CORS) access.
- AWS IAM for security and compliance. dis is used as a first layer of defense for both RBAC and controlling resources (access policies and limiting/exposing service accounts) as well as trying to enforce 2FA for every user under a given account.
- Python 3.x for scripting/bridging software and tools. Django and Flask for web applications. Requests for HTTP. Psutils for benchmarking.
- Moderate experience wif Microsoft Azure, including deployment of Kubernetes clusters on Azure Container Services (AKS).
- Some experience wif vSphere 5.5 and 6.5 administration, from host OS installs to low level troubleshooting via shell access, as well as basic VM administration.
- Ansible for software deployments and network configuration. Used in managing x86 metal/VM deployment and for use of modules dat address network appliances (Cisco, Juniper, etc…)
- Kubernetes for management and orchestration of container environments. Has deployed through Kubeadm, Kops and Rancher.
- AWS ECS/ECR for container deployment on managed services. Mostly migrating workloads from Elastic Beanstalk.
- AWS Elastic Beanstalk for CI/CD type deployments. Mainly administration/troubleshooting older deployments.
- AWS RDS, Redshift and DynamoDB for persisting/sorting data. Administration of MySQL and MariaDB RDS instances.
- AWS Route53 for managed DNS. Normally using public registrars but me’ve set up a few completely private zones as well.
- AWS CloudWatch and CloudTrail for monitoring metrics, events, logs (former) and API calls (latter). Typical setup has been to send alarm events from CloudWatch to SQS to later be picked up and delivered in some way to a given principal via SNS.
- AWS CloudFormations for deployment and separation of infrastructure by using separate stacks. Although native access to AWS resources is very useful, practically me’ve done most software deployment wif other configuration management tools.
- NodeJS (usually 8.9) for web development and MongoDB SDK.
- Has administrated MySQL/MariaDB clusters as well as MongoDB Replica Set’s/Shards. Some basic dev work wif MongoDB.
- Prior experience wif Openstack, mostly installed via OSA, Triple-O or Mirantis Fuel. Has worked on initial deployments as well as ongoing administration and maintenance.
