Professional Experience: Over twenty years of experience with RDBMS databases, i.e. Oracle, DB2/UDB, Sybase and associated development software on a variety of platforms including Digital Alpha Open VMS, HP-UX, Sun Solaris, AIX, and Linux.

Information Technology Experience:
Oracle: 1.) Data modeling. 2.) Installation and configuration of the Oracle software including the creation of rollback tablespaces (undo tablespaces) and segments, redo logs and placing the database in hotback mode (with archived redo logs), writing the backup scripts for both hot and cold backups and exports. 3.) Implementation of the database model including creation of the tablespaces, tables, users, roles and profiles. 4.) Running developers' scripts and procedures to populate, maintain and cleanup the database. 5.) Assisting developers with de-bugging their SQL and PL/SQL code. 6.) Tuning the developers' code for optimum performance. 7.) Upgrading the database to the current release as required. 8.) Installation of Oracle patches as required. 9.) Configuration of Oracle*Net 10.) Installation of the JDBC thin driver. 11.) Recovering the database as necessary both partially (using either import or archived logs as required) and full database recovery (using hotbackups with archived logs). Tuning the database for optimal performance. 12.) Migration of the database from one version of Oracle to the next (Oracle 5.1a through Oracle 10g). 13.) Providing worldwide on-call support for in house databases and client-owned databases. This included support of Oracle 10g RAC databases using ASM.
DB2/UDB on AIX, HP-UX and Linux: 1.) Installation of the database software on all platforms. 2.) Configuration of the databases (production, test and development). 3.) Creating the SQL scripts to populate, maintain and cleanup the databases. 4.) Creating the the backup procedures. 5.) Assisting the developers' with de-bugging their SQL code. 6.) Tuning the developers' code for optimum performance. 7.) Tuning the database for optimal performance.
Sybase on Sun Solaris: 1.) Installation and configuration the Sybase software including the creation of the transaction log and configuring it. 2.) Implementation the database model including creation of the databases, tables, views, indexes and users. 3.) Running developers' scripts and procedures to populate, maintain and cleanup the database. 4.) Assisting developers with de-bugging their SQL code. 5.) Tuning the developers' code for optimum performance. 6.) Performing DBCC on a weekly basis. 7.) Tuning the database for optimal performance. 8.) Recovering the database as necessary. 9.) Migration of the database from Sybase 11.x to Oracle 8i.
