- This consisted of two databases containing nearly 250 Gigabytes of data; a staging database where the Extraction, Testing and Loading (ETL) of the data occurred and the target database where the users queried the processed data using Oracle’s Hyperion BI tool. Data was replicated from the source to the staging database using Oracle’s materialized views and from the staging to the target database using a combination of Oracle’s materialized views and Infomatica ETL processes.
- I also supported the development and testing environments of the IIDS.
- I developed and implemented the physical databases, wrote over 1,400 SQL and PL/SQL scripts, and several procedures including an extensive package to manage the data workflow. I interacted extensively with the ETL and BI tool teams, the production DBA task members, and the end customer.
- I documented the IIDS in the VDD and used Version Manager (VM) to maintain configuration control.
- I prepared and maintained the traceability matrix and prepared the test and acceptance plans for each release.

- I analyzed SQL and PL/SQL to optimize response time using Explain Plan, Statspack, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), SQL Impact and SQL Lab. created and maintain 22 related development, test, migration and training Oracle databases, including the Confidential development, testing, training and migration databases, that were either full copies or extracts of the production database.
- Each database contained over 7,000 database objects and over 20,000 grants and privileges that needed to be maintained.
- I created PL/SQL scripts to add new objects, tables, views, synonyms, grants, and triggers.
- I supported the developers, testers and trainers and established and administered their Oracle userids.
- I assisted in setting up a training/lab center for Ident biometrics. This consisted of tying the new version of the application to an image database of photographs and fingerprints.
- I was responsible for migrating the CAIS application and database from the IHP database to the Confidential and integrating the CAIS data and database objects with the existing database. This involved remapping the primary and foreign keys of over 2,000,000 rows of data without loosing the data integrity of the CAIS data or disrupting the integrity or availability of the existing Confidential data.
- I was the primary support for the Confidential Snapshot/Datamart database. This used Oracle Advanced Replication to maintain a "snapshot" of approximately 60 of the most interesting tables in the Confidential database. Database triggers populated 4 datamarts that present the data to end users in an aggregated format. I ensured that the replication worked and that new users were added with the appropriate privileges I upgraded the operating system of the server from Windows 2000 Service Pack 1 to Windows 2000 Service Pack 4, upgraded the Oracle RDBMS from 7.3.4 to 8.1.6 to 9.1.0 to 9.2.0.3.0, and researched and recommended specifications for new database and application servers.
