Responsibilities:

  • performed all Oracle database administration tasks on five Data warehouses and three ApplicationXtender databases on AIX, including installations/upgrades/patching, backup/recovery, cloning, monitoring, database and sql tuning, application and production support starting with Oracle version 7.3.4 though version 12. Gather business requirements and provide project plans with estimates for all projects. Track project deliverables to ensure tasks are completed on time, within estimates and expectations.
  • Cloned development data warehouse databases quarterly to keep data in sync, resolve production support issues and for patches and upgrades.
  • Upgraded Employer Services Database (ESDB) from standalone 11.2.0.4 database on AIX to Suse Linux 12 RAC Oracle 12.1.0.2 database on ASM storage.
  • Create shell scripts to automate the Data Ware House loads to detect new interface files to execute SQL Loader scripts, reducing monthly load from one week to one day and the weekly load from two days to four hours. Increased SQL Loader speed by four hours switching to direct path loads and utilizing parallel and unrecoverable loader options.
  • Created and deployed on the ESDB Data warehouse row level security table that simplified management of database views and roles, reducing the time needed to create new users.

  • Manage and deploy the rollout of Quest Stat for Oracle E-Business Suite version 5.5 to over 100 Developers, QA testers, and DBA users allowing the tracking of all changes, SOX auditing and faster deployments to the 18 North America EBS instances. Created a Stat Client user manual and held live training sessions for Developers and DBA teams on using the Stat Client.
  • Stat 6.1 Upgrade Project: performed a platform migration from AIX to Suse Linux 12 for the application server. Upgraded the Stat standalone 11.2.0.4 Oracle database on AIX to a 2 node RAC Oracle 12.1.0.2 database on Suse Linux. Setup backups using RMAN with Commvault. Created Ansible playbooks to automate upgrade of Stat Oracle agent software to version 6.1 on 35 AIX and 2 Suse Linux servers reducing upgrade by 6 hours.
  • Created over 50 custom Stat file objects that eliminated manual deployments and reduced production downtime window. Created 12 Stat custom EBS setup objects that replaces manual setup, removes the chance of errors that comes with manual setup. Developed a Stat custom file object to automate the deployment of EBS SOA Gateway objects across two application nodes saving 15 minutes per deployment.
