Senior Oracle Applications Developer/Technical Team lead
Roles and Responsibilities
- Developed A Deferred Revenue system that satisfies following purposes at 24 Hour Fitness.
- I developed PL/SQL code to generate a report containing information about the contracts extended Confidential their original prepaid end dates.
- I used Oracle Applications Incentive Compensation module application to access the contract details as well as pricing and effective end dates for different contracts on Service and Prepaid lines.
- I am also involved in SQL tuning the performance of queries using Explain Plan.
- For most invoice items, 24HourFitness recognizes revenue in a way not supported by standard Oracle AR. For these items, the receipt amount was recognized as revenue in monthly installments over a scheduled period. These distributions are in addition to the standard AutoAccounting distributions that follow AR events. Accounts Receivable are setup with Accrual Basis accounting and the Immediate Accounting Rule will be assigned to invoices by default.
- Additional offsetting distributions are generated for most receipts and reversals, not just for items that are subject to revenue deferral. The new distributions offset specialized distributions made earlier in the receipt cycle to satisfy the unique requirements of 24HourFitness.
- A pair of DFF's, Revenue Account and Revenue Sub Account, identify the GL accounts for invoice items which require offsetting distributions.
- A lookup table identifies the GL accounts for deferral and recognition. This table is keyed by item and qualified by contract type and dues level as needed.
- This extension implements a custom table, the Deferred Revenue Schedule DRS, designed to control the generation of distributions, over time. It contains all the data needed to generate the distributions, and includes timing information to determine when the distribution should be generated.
- I am involved in all of the following four steps to develop and maintain the customer management system.
- In the first step, Cash Applications Processes, receipt and CM applications and reversals are located. For each, the contra account offset distributions and the revenue deferral distributions are generated. As well, the DRS will be populated to control the monthly generation of Revenue recognition.
- In the second step, Scheduled Revenue Recognition, the DRS will be used to generate the monthly Revenue Recognitions.
- The third step processes the tax on Refund CM's.
- The final step produces a summary report of the distributions generated in this run.
- These steps run consecutively as concurrent processes in a report set, scheduled to run daily. The set must be completed before the AR closing at monthend.
